Mitzi will sign her wildlife rehab childrens book

Mitzi Brabb, journalist, wildlife rehabber and all-around good guy, will be signing copies of her children's book "Mom, I Found a Bunny!" Sunday at noon.  It's a perfect gift for Rim Country children.

What would you do if you found a wild animal in need of help?

"Mom, I Found a Bunny!" is an entertaining and light-hearted story about a boy named Tommy who finds an abandoned bunny on his way home from school. With the help of a professional rehabilitator, he learns valuable lessons in caring for, respecting, and then letting go of this adorable baby animal.

This beautifully illustrated picture book raises children's awareness about animal behavior and their need to live freely in their own natural environment. TV’s wildlife animal handler, Jack Hanna, says that this “tale of an orphaned bunny is a perfect primer” for kids like Tommy, who gain a “much better understanding of the wild creatures with which we share our world!” It provides excellent lessons for parents as well as children, both of whom are likely to experience this all too common encounter with wildlife at some point in their lives.

"Mom, I Found a Bunny!," written by local journalist (Gazette Blog and Mogollon Connection), author and wildlife rehabilitator Mitzi Brabb, was nominated for two children’s book awards. The proceeds will directly benefit the animals cared for by Ms. Brabb.

Join her for her book signing on Sunday, Aug. 15 from noon to 2 p.m. at East West Exchange, located at 100 N. Tonto Street, Suite 102. Families and children of all ages welcome. She will be reading her book and teaching the public about handling native wildlife.
