Mothers and daughters grab your walking shoes and come down to Green Valley Park on Thursday, June 23, 2011 and join our mother and daughter fitness walk.
Registration is from 5 to 5:45 p.m. near the Bandshell. Eastern Arizona Health Education Center and Mogollon Health Alliance staff will hand out free pedometers and teach you to set the stride. Gila Community College student nurses will be on-site to chart your blood pressure, pulse and oxygen levels. Stretch-out and cool-down with Personal Fitness Trainers Casandra Stouder and Nina Ray before and after your walk.
Christy Walton, certified Zumba instructor, will be at the park at 6:30 p.m. to connect benefits of music with exercise. This is a great way to bring in fun and a party attitude to healthy living.
Walking is an inexpensive, relatively easy, and healthy form of exercise. At Mother Daughter Fitness you will have time to walk at your own pace around the lake at Green Valley Park. Earn prize tickets for every thousand steps!
Don’t have a mom or daughter to walk with? You are welcome to walk with us anyway!
