Celebration later for Gazette friend Marion Nun

Marion Joy Nun
1935 - 2010


Marion Joy Nun was born to Reba Jewett Franz and Henry Anton Franz on Oct. ober 28, 1935 in Geneva, Neb. She was married to Richard John Nun on May 26, 1957 in Geneva. While in Lincoln, Marion and Richard worked their way through University of Nebraska business school.

Marion and Richard moved to Michigan in 1963 and lived there until Richard’s retirement from Ford Motor Company in 1997. While living in Michigan, Marion worked for Wayne Bank and raised their two wonderful children, Michelle Nun Taylor and Brandon Scott Nun.

Marion and Richard retired to Payson, Arizona in 1997. They chose Payson for its clean air, four seasons, abundant wildlife, and small town atmosphere. There they built their dream dome home on the side of a mountain overlooking the town park and lake. Marion’s children include Michelle Nun Taylor, and Brandon Scott Nun and his wife Jana Nun.

Marion was always interested in a naturopathic lifestyle, wildlife, and animals. She spent her life helping people and animals. She loved her Jack Russell Terrier, Schatzi.

She was also an avid reader and supporter of the Rim Country Gazette.

Marion is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard, and her children, Michelle Nun Taylor, and Brandon Scott Nun and his wife Jana Nun. She is also survived by her sister LaVerne Juhl of Lincoln, Neb. and her nieces and nephews, Kay, Jon, Sue, Becky, Stan, and Max. Marion is also survived by her granddaughter, Cheyenne Nicole Taylor.

No funeral is planned at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Marion’s memory to the Humane Society of Central Arizona (HSCAZ), P.O. Box 242, Payson, Arizona 85547.
