Vern Leis with Paty Henderson on election night at Diamond Point Shadows Restaurant. Leis had to wait until Friday morning to see if his 11-vote election night lead over Chris Benjamin for the final council seat would hold up.
Vern Leis edged Chris Benjamin for the final Star Valley Town Council seat as the final results were released Friday morning. The race was too close to call until all ballots were counted.
As reported earlier, Bill Rappaport won the mayoral race and Paty Henderson led all council candidates. Also elected to the council was Del Newland.
Just 44 percent of the registered voters cast ballots.
