Three
projects to resurface State Route 87 are underway in the East Valley
and north of Sunflower. The pavement-improvement work will not take
place over the Labor Day holiday weekend. All three projects are
scheduled for completion this fall.
Motorists
who use SR 87, should check the project websites for the most
up-to-date construction schedules. Factors such as weather and equipment
maintenance can affect the work schedules:
-
SR 87 (Country Club Drive) narrowed to one lane at times near Mesa between the Loop 202 and Gilbert Road from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily Monday through Thursday
-
SR 87 (Arizona Avenue) narrowed in both directions near Chandler between Hunt Highway and Riggs Road from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
-
SR 87 (Duthie-Martin Highway) narrowed in both directions north of Sunflower between mileposts 218 – 225 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Monday through Thursday
For more information about the project in Sunflower, please visit www.azdot.gov/prescottprojects and for more information about the projects in the East Valley, please visit http://azdot.gov/Highways/ valley_freeways/SR87/closures_ restrictions.asp.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zones with caution,
slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
