PRESCOTT
– The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a project this
week to repave a seven-mile segment of State Route 87 approximately 30
miles south of Payson near Sunflower (mileposts 218 – 225). The work
will include removal of a layer of the existing pavement, repaving the roadway, and drainage improvements.
Work
hours will be 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Drivers can
expect alternating lane restrictions in both directions with minimal
delays through the work zone. Vehicles will be limited to a maximum
width of 14 feet and the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
The $2.7 million project is scheduled for completion by the end of September.
ADOT
advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow
down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
