OCCUPY WALL STREET UPDATE

15 October 11 - "If you read the newspapers today, I, for one, am increasingly concerned about the growing mobs occupying Wall Street and the other cities across the country. And believe it or not, some in this town, have actually condoned the pitting of Americans against Americans." - Eric Cantor
Damn! I nearly spit out my coffee when I read that one. At that exact same moment, the pot that I had brewed the coffee in called the kettle "black." Aren't these the most interesting of times? They are, you know. They really are!
Here is a question that I am hard-pressed to avoid: Is there a bigger worm slithering though the halls of Congress than Eric Cantor? If there is I'd sure as hell would like to know about it. It has always amused me to watch him on the tube trying to defend the morally indefensible. He always has this weird look of cherubic contentment on his clueless face. It really is something to behold. To the credit of Mitch "The Plutocracy's Bitch" McConnell, he at least has the decency to look somewhat ill at ease when having to vomit forth their nonsensical talking points . Cantor, on the other hand, is right at home with their delightfully twisted agenda. Too weird!
Consider Eric Cantor's burden. if you will. The little freak wants us to swallow his definition of the people down on Wall Street who now hold up a mirror to the plutocracy's face. Eric defines them as a "mob". He actually made a very good point - although I am certain that it was accidental on his part. This IS the pitting of "Americans against Americans. It's the ninety nine percent against the one percent. Cantor and his people are calling this "class warfare". Guess what. It is class warfare! And they've been waging it against us since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution.
For the first century, it was a covert war. On January 20, 1981 (Guess what happened on that day? Hint: "Ronnie") it became completely and unabashedly overt. On 17 September 2011, the sleeping giant of the American Left was awakened from a long and troubled slumber. Cantor and his gang shouldn't even dream about putting an end to what is now happening. This revolution is unstoppable. The line it is drawn; the curse it is cast. The good folks whom at this very hour are occupying Wall Street are bearing witness for all the world to behold, what 30 years of deregulation - and the resulting economic plunder - have done to the working people of this once-great nation. The American people have had it up to here and they're taking long-overdue action. The old world is rapidly fading. Please get out of the new one if you can't lend a hand.

Bravo! You hit the nail on the head. I agree with you that yes, it is class warfare and it was started long ago by these corporate political sycophants. These guys (like Eric Cantor) just don't get it -- they created this mess; they ARE the problem and they are blind to that fact. Poor leadership has allowed this country to create policies that have allowed such a divide. Thank you for putting into words what most of us are too flabbergasted to voice.

"...Rim Country Gazette Blog will post the best of Reader Supported News..." If that is an example of the best news you can find about the protests then that is very telling as to how weak the Left's argument is in support of this push toward anarchy. There were no facts and almost no statemtents, just a bunch of name calling and accusations. Go back and read it again and tell me anything meaningful you got from that garbage.
Great I am all for revolution, please explain your platform? Are you for higher taxes or should we just take all the money from millionaires and billionairs and give it to you? Should those who work continue to support those who do not? Should Washington continue to print money we don't have to hire more government employees we do not need? Maybe we should ban all energy use until the air is clean? What a jerk and how this rubbish get published is amazing.
Do I sense the smell of fear in the air? What we want is a fair redistribution of wealth - nothing more, nothing less. People who work hard deserve to have food on the table and a roof over their heads. Just drive around Payson and the inequity is blatantly obvious - people with way more than they need and people scraping to get by. That's not what America is about, and By God it's about to change. If you're in the 1 percent, you should be afraid.
Read what Eric Kantor himself NOW says:
ouse Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said repeatedly Sunday that Republicans agree that too few people control too much wealth in America.
"We know in this country right now that there is a complaint about folks at the top end of the income scales, that they make too much and too many don't make enough," Cantor said during an appearance on Fox News Sunday, toning down his earlier criticism of the Occupy Wall Street protests.
"We need to encourage folks at the top of the income scale to actually put their money their work to create more jobs so we can see a closing of the gap," he added.
Cantor's change of tone comes as protests against Wall Street are gaining in popularity and the White House seeks to ride the latest wave of populist anger.
Republicans "are about income mobility," Cantor said as he tried to make the case that the GOP was best equipped to spread the wealth. "And that's what we should be focused on to take care of the income disparities."
