This weekend crews will install a new electronic overhead message boards along State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) in north Phoenix. Once operational, these signs will provide valuable information to drivers on SR 51. In addition to the sign installation, crews will also work on paving and restriping. Drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:
- Southbound State Route 51 closed between Loop 101 and Bell Road from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday (April 7). Please note all ramps from Loop 101 to southbound SR 51 will also be closed. DETOUR: Exit Loop 101 at Cave Creek Road or Tatum Boulevard south to Bell Road to access SR 51.
- North and southbound State Route 51 on-ramps at Union Hills Drive closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday (April 7). DETOUR: Take Union Hills Drive to 32nd or 40th streets south to Bell Road to access SR 51.
