Vocal guitarist John Darst returns to Payson by public demand after receiving raves last year -- many said that his group was perhaps one of the best to perform in the jazz series at the church in quite some time. The group usually performs as a two guitar and stand up bass trio, but for this performance local drummer Gerry Reynolds will join the group.Bob Veltre, the other guitarist, is an accomplished player out of NewYork City and he resides in Show Low. Bassist Chris Long teaches music at Blue Ridge High School in Show Low. And John Darst, who was educated in music at the University of Utah, played for many years in Los Angeles clubs before moving to Snow Flake. Drummer Gerry Reynolds is known for playing with many, and he resides in Strawberry. In a sense, these are local musicians.

The group's music genre is 30's, 40's, 50's & early 60's jazz. They most likely will also play a few tunes from the classic rock, country, pop oldies, or blues music books.

Fans of live music should enjoy this performance, as should those who love to hear good jazz played well.
