Montana woman rips Senator for dissing Seniors

LETTER
LETTER
LETTER

(Editor's note: This is one of those chain-type e-mails we usually avoid, but after verifying its contents we thought it should be shared.  Pardon the language.)

Alan Simpson, Republican Senator from Wyoming and co-chair of President Obama's deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security" to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats.

Here's a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Montana:

"Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight...

1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY YEARS.
2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).
3 My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff proud.
4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age 67. NOW, you and your shill commission is proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.
5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay the bills.
6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you incompetent bastards spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.

To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bullshit" on your incompetence. Well, Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for YOU:

1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career?

2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers?
3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?
4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or, as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?

It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcases who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes. That's right, sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

And you can take that to the bank, you miserable SOB!

If you like the way things are in America , ignore this.

If you agree with what a fellow Montana citizen ( Patty Myers) says, PASS IT ON!

This is tea party trash. Simpson was serving on the congressional committee to solve the debt crisis and he noted that though every group testifying before the commitee thought the debt was a tragedy, none of them were willing to allow for any cuts to their projects. He said "we've had the greatest generation, I think this is the greediest generation." He then followed with "I really believe that their are more patriots in America than selfish, selfish people."

This is just another example of how far right the GOP has lurched, when it turns on life-long conservatives like Simpson.

Snopes.com should be among everyone's compurter "favorites" IMO.

I can understand why "Anonymous" used that ID to post its comment. It is amazing how the "Tea Party" catches heat for telling the truth. It was the "Teat Party" that got this Country started...they demanded their rights. But, bless their hearts, they shouldn't have done that.
Today's Tea Party is made up of Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike with only one thing in mind to get our Country back to being strong and for the people. Patty is correct in her assessment of the career Politician and her assessment of Simpson. Had it not bee for Pres. Johnson and the democrats pushing to move the Social Security money to the General Fund, Social Security would be viable and very solvent. Those money grubbing politicians squandered that money and wrote us an IOU. Yeah, Anonymous, you're right, we seniors should be ashamed of ourselves for feeling robbed and wanting what we worked years. Yeah, that makes us greedy. However, it's OK for politicians to give themselves raises and make more than the average tax[ayer. Very few politicians leave office without an accumulated amount of money less than a million or two for their trouble. Yeah, we seniors are the bad guys. Anonymous, suck an egg!

I agree totally with what WhyDieLost has posted. We desperately need term limits, each Congressman and Senator on the same health care plan we have, NO TAXPAYER funded retirement plan. Case in point, Wiener, Kennedy, and Clinton just to name three of the many. Most are shyster lawyers who know how to finagle the words to make you think they said what you wanted to hear and smile while they lie to you. Case in point... Edwards. We need representatives of the people! We need to rid this nation of ALL the pay for nothing programs and put these sorry slobs to work!We need to return education to the states and get out of our families lives.
Question: if Simpson is "Captain Bullshit", does that make B. HUssein Soetoro Obama.. General Bullshit?

wow, you all never heard of Ron Paul. He is running for republican presidential nomination and has made that statement throughout his career, not just in the last year when the rest of you caught up.

Let's run this lady for Congress. I am also a Senior Citizen, ten years older than this lady, but I feel I have better sense than the dufuses presently in Washington. We need term limits to get them out, even though it would get the good with the bad.

This was an actual dialogue or monologue, Eeee, it's really sad how this non-productive rhetoric is becoming popular..
It was far too narrow a view, possibly 'lifted' out of a larger conversation? She's angry, and narrow on a rather large topic.
Financial water-levels in her and our pool has been dropping for some time now, evidently exposing some raw nerves...

I'll try to clarify just a couple gargantuan 'innocently' forgotten contributing points... tax-cuts & military spending. Pass this on

There is not even one mention of any of the budget-busting wars we've been financing for over 20 years!!!!!!
I think they have all forgotten it!!! *** In 2012, we will spend in between 14% - 19% of our nat-budget, or $900 billion - $1,415 trillion on military.
(the variable range is due to differing reports from different groups/agencies)

How soon they forget... Here's an old NEWS quote from 2005: "Bush's insistence on preserving his first-term tax cuts will cost more than $2 trillion in lost revenue in the seven years after 2010"

Back to bullets: The 2009 U.S. military budget accounted for approximately 40% of all global arms spending.
The 2012 budget is 3-4 times larger than the 240 billions of the military budget of China, and is more than the next twenty largest military spenders combined.

It is probably futile to keep harping on the Bombs & Bullets argument as a possible solution to the budget as we Americans just seem destined to continue...

Dear Editor & Patty Myers,
Re:Social Security
I agree with your direct statement and chain letter and I passed it on. However, please start with your own neighborhood and take Dick Cheney to the woodshed in your neck of the woods of Wyoming for spending the money, putting us ALL in debt, trying to put Social Security on the ROULETTE wheel, and mismanagement of OUR Country!

Would appreciate a revision to that effect.
Yours,
Concerned Citizen

I took over a year for this to make the rounds and reach me. Obviously not enough people are upset by the very same people and circumstances that are in place. This old coot is still running his mouth about the same things, still showing up on national TV programs, like he's one of the Wise Men. In the meantime, the rest of the gang, for the most part, is still all there. How do these people actually stay in power? How much do they spend buying votes? Is that where most of the campaign expense money goes?

Well here's the thing. As a firefighter I received retirement from the city never paying social security directly. But for thirty years I also paid into social security on a myriad of parttime jobs, sometimes as many as three, while employed with the FD. I worked on the days away from the 24hour job on the FD. As luck would have it when I turned 65 and became eligible to draw social security I find out I'm only eligible for a third of what I ordinarily would receive from SSI. Is that fair or what.

Here is something she missed.

1. HE gets FULL retirement, HIS full salary, I get small part what my salary was when I retired, AND if the salary for the Senate goes up? his retirement payments go up and he GETS a raise. AND who decided that? The Senate. WE are not allowed to VOTE for our increase but he is. Talk about "letting the fox in the hen house"
2. Freebies, I can not NAME all the Freebies he AND those other ass holes get. Yahoo will not send an email THAT large.
3. I, have 65 years of paying into SS ON a real job. Senators dont retire, how do you retire when you never worked? They keep taking from work never performed. They are usually on perpetually vacation anyway. Watch CSPAN, those seats are usually empty.
4. You might be justified in calling it "entitlements", if you mean, WE are "entitled" to get some of our money BACK we paid in. What is left after you guys raped and pillaged the fund for decades for your pet projects like "Corporate Welfare" given to Oil Companies that were already making BILLIONS in profit and replaced it with "IOU" vouchers in the "lock box" which is another name for a "government trash can"
5. GE and others "get back more in taxes" than they pay, or, they get credit for taxes they dont pay. In my 65 years, I get refunds but they are LESS than I paid in from my pay check.
6. On the "teats" is better than being on the "North end of a cow going South"
