PERSPECTIVE
Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, shot Saturday morning outside a Tucson Safeway, was a target on one of Sarah Palin's "crosshairs" maps: A map which targeted legislators who voted in favor of healthcare reform.
Palin's political action committee singled out 20 Democratic members of Congress by using rifle scopes to target them on a map. Giffords was one of those Representatives targeted by Palin. After the historic healthcare reform vote Palin told her followers on Twitter, "Don't Retreat, instead - RELOAD!"
Giffords responded to Palin's inflammatory comments in March of 2010 when her office was vandalized: "We're on Sarah Palin's targeted list. But the thing is the way that she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district. People do that, they've got to realize there's consequences to that action."
Palin's careless "call to arms" last year may have played a part in the tragic series of events that took place in the Tucson Safeway parking lot.

Palin's comments had nothing to do with the shooting. The shooter hardly watched tv,much less political news.
