Voting For PSWID Board Members in Nov 2nd Election

Voter registration ended October 4, 2010.

If you own property within the PSWID district and reside in Arizona, you have a right to vote for the PSWID board.

You can obtain an absentee ballot by calling The Gila County Recorder’s office in Payson at (928)-474-7139 or the Globe office at (928)-402-8735. They can also be contacted at 1-800-304-4452.

You can request the absentee ballot on a one time basis or be added to the permanent mailing list.

Our Recommendations For PSWID Board Members

There are five candidates running to fill three positions on the board. The top three vote getters will fill the positions. They are:

i. Mr. Mike Greer (Rim Country Water)
ii. Mr. Ron Calderon (Rim Country Water)
iii. Mr. Mike Claxton (Rim Country Water)
iv. Mr. Howard Matthews
v. Mr. Marvin Mortensen

Comment: Our view is that Mr. Greer and Mr. Calderon have demonstrated over the last few years that they do not deserve to be on the PSWID board. They have repeatedly misrepresented or hidden the costs of the actions that they have taken. They consistently represent the interests of the local developers to the detriment of the community as a whole. They have participated in wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars of the community’s money. They see conspiracies at every turn. The community deserves better than that.

Comment: In order to ensure that Mr. Greer and Mr. Calderon do not return to the board, we recommend voting for Mr. Matthews, Mr. Mortensen, and Mr. Claxton. While Mr. Claxton is part of the Rim Country Water slate, we are recommending voting for him because that increases the chances that Mr. Greer and Mr. Calderon end up in 4th and 5th place. Removing Mr. Greer and Mr. Calderon and electing Mr. Claxton will reduce the conspiracy theory faction (or, if you prefer, the Rim Country Water faction since their members are the same) from four votes to three on the board. Hopefully the other four board members will take the opportunity to return some sanity to the board’s actions.
