Catherine M. Gunther
1925 - 2010
Catherine M. (Wolverton) Gunther 84, born on Dec. 24, 1925 in a home in Phillipsburg, N. J. to Edward and Martha Wolverton. She passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010.
She resided in the state of Arizona for 20 years and lived in Payson for 13 years. She is originally from New Jersey. She is survived by son Raymond P. Gunther 3rd (Karen), sister Mary Morrow, sister-in-law Dorothy Wolverton and brother-in-law James H. Hill. Grandchildren Jeffrey (Audrey), Kevin and Ashley. Great-grandmother of Alec, Chase, Jack and Bryce Gunther.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond Peter Gunther, her sister Grace (Woverton) Hill, her brother Charles Wolverton, her sister Charlotte Troxell and her grandson Chad Gunther.
She was a warm, loving, giving person and everyone loved her. She made everyone she met feel that they were special. Even on her death bed, she was kind to the people who were trying to cure her and to get her well again. She would even say thank you for the help that they were giving her. Not many people would do that when they aren’t feeling well.
She will be missed by everyone. Catherine will be cremated and set aside her loving husband Peter Gunther and grandson Chad in New Jersey. Catherine, affectionately known as ‘Kitty’ was a warm, loving, caring woman and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
I, Robert T. Baker Sr., lived with Catherine M. Gunther for 13 years and knew her for 18. She was the smartest woman I knew and had the biggest heart. The world has lost an amazing woman and I will always feel an emptiness in my life without her. I loved her so.
