Fossil Creek Gang performs Sunday

Community Presbyterian Church
800 East Main Street, Payson
Opening the doors to the public
presents
2 p.m. Sunday, August 10th
the Fossil Creek Gang

Once, the band "Whitewater" performed across the country. Their music was influenced by their classical music training and experience performing jazz and pop. They were very popular
touring professionals for more than thirty years.

Today, they are returning to perform after a long layoff. Journeyman musicians' Suzanne and Dale Knighton have joined with Gerry Reynolds to form a new group -- with a new sound -- that is the result of melding Dixie-jazz, folk, blues and early 20th century tunes taken from the Great American Songbook.  They call themselves the Fossil Creek Gang, and they reside in Strawberry.

Suzanne - vocals, string bass
Dale - vocals, guitar, banjo, ukulele
Gerry - drums, cymbals, chimes

Featured tunes will include an early jazz rendition of "Rag Mama," a ukulele vocal of "Marie," the soulful ballad "Summertime,"  the guitar favorite "Layla," early jazz "All That Jazz" and "Jelly Roll," and mid-century pop like "Fever" and "Since I Fell For You."  These are just a few of the tunes the band has prepared.

A $5 donation may be given at the door. Canned goods for the church food bank will be accepted.
