Final paving on AZ260 continues through Tuesday

Final paving will occur on State Route 260 at Doubtful Canyon (mileposts 269 to 272) starting today, Thursday, Sept. 12 through the weekend until Tuesday, Sept. 17. 

The roadway will be narrowed to one lane in each direction to allow crews to apply the final layer of asphalt through the Doubtful Canyon widening project. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and drivers can expect minimal delays. 

In addition to the paving work at Doubtful Canyon, Bear Flat Access Road (Forest Service 405A) will be closed to all traffic for resurfacing starting Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 a.m. will reopen on Friday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.

The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage.

ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
