Raised within sight of the Adirondack Mountains, the Gibson Brothers have emerged as leaders in the 21st century generation of bluegrass greats. Coming from a non-musical family - their first instruments came from a Sears-Roebuck catalog – they exploded on the national scene in 1998 winning the International Bluegrass Music Association’s “Emerging Artist of the Year.”
After signing with Sugar Hill records in 2005 they produced four albums, including #1 smash “Bona Fide.” They released their first record on Compass Records in May 2009. The Gibson Brothers travel with a full band including fiddle, mandolin and bass.
The Tonto Community Concert Association is committed to bringing quality entertainment to the Rim Country through an annual concert series and support of the fine arts in Payson schools. This series is intended as an enriching cultural experience for the people of Payson and those in surrounding communities.
This concert is the first of eight world class concerts the TCCA will bring to the Payson area this season. Upcoming concerts include: Daniel Narducci / Dashing Baritone Sensation with piano (September 20, 2010), The New Christy Minstrels / Classic American Folk Ensemble (November 9, 2010), Cristiana Pegoraro / Renowned Classic Italian Pianist (February 14, 2011), Jim Witter / Tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John (March 21, 2011), Paul McDermand / Percussionist Extraordinaire (April 15, 2011) and Dallas / Award-Winning Brass Sextet (May 13, 2011).
