Moore was in good company. Among other “People to Watch” are Apolo Anton Ohno, U.S. Olympic speed skater, Julie Foudy, former captain of the U.S. Women’s Soccer team, and Tyson Gay, World Champion American Record Holder at 100 meters.
Highlighting her 30-year career as a physical education specialist, Moore was named 2010 Arizona Educational Foundation Ambassador for Excellence and 2010 Gila County Teacher of the Year. She is currently engaged in implementation of a $1.1 million Carol M. White Physical Education Program (PEP) grant to expand and develop Payson’s PE program.
In responding to her latest honor, Moore said, “Today we are completely in a different society and school is so much more important to kids. If we can be that sole positive impact on kids, we can be the source that can change a child’s life.”
