I'm torn about the Gazette's demise. I thought it was an informative publication. However, the constant whineing about the Roundup Newspaper and some of it's article contributors was juvenile at best. And some of the Gazette's writers seemed like they were aged hippies in what they had to say. I wish your blog success.

Unknown said...

Jinx Pyle is a load of it. And there was nothing wrong with the way that we had fun at his expense-nothing juvenile about it. Stereotypes about "aged hippies" are, actually, quite juvenile, however.

The Butcher said...

The Roundup had it all coming! You should only know about all their dirty, underhanded tricks against the Gazette in their attempts to put the gazette out of business.

payson place said...

Wait at minute...Is Butcher an alias for Al Poskanzer? Past financial investor and employee of the now defunct paper edition of the Gazette?
Can you say biased, objectivity, spin?

Mr E said...

This is actually nicer than the newspaper. I can get it when I want and the news will be continuously updated.

Margo said...

Forgive me, Payson Place, but Dr. Poskanzer was never employed by the Gazette. He did what he could to keep the Newspaper of the People alive. I, for one, will sorely miss the most interesting paper in the Rim Country.

payson place said...

Ok, he was not an employee. He was a financial investor/owner according to the publisher in one of the last paper issues. All I'm saying is that makes his comments and opinions subject to credibility and bias review. And be honest, the Gazette was a good informative local paper. BUT, it was also a front for the pro ex Payson Mayor Bob Edwards camp agenda and Star Valley town objectives. No complaint about it, just be up front about it.

Margo said...

Payson Place, if the Gazette is guilty of its beginnings being a "front for the pro ex Payson Mayor Bob Edwards camp agenda and Star Valley objectives," then it was formed because the "other paper" was not allowing those voices to be heard. There needed to be another forum for those voices then, and there needs to be one now. I hope this blog will be the voice for anyone who is not adequately represented in the "other paper." Don't you agree?

Anonymous said...

Payson Place, you want to be "up front" about it, then post by your name, not an alias :)

Margo said...

On another note, thank you, Noble Collins, for a most interesting history lesson on wine! Looking forward to more of these.

payson place said...

Noble Collins doesn't sell snake oil. He sells wine!

Margo said...

Hey, Payson Place. Where'd you go? I am so curious about the snake oil comment. What exactly did you mean by that?? Call me daft...

payson place said...

Was out of town for a spell. My comment refers to Mr. Collins article in one of the last Gazette papers that Old Jinx Pyle was a snake oil salesman. Thought it was tacky, but so what. Papers and op-ed pieces are free to say whatever they want pretty much. And, he has his right to his opinion.

Anonymous said...

That sounds exactly like something Don Evans would say:)

Cowboytoo said...

I think the "snake oil" comment refered to the fact tha Jinx used his columnist's position to sell false information to some willing listeners.

Cowboytoo said...

PaysonPlace - see Noble's column explaining the difference between "opinion" and "facts."

payson place said...

That's hizzz opinion :)

Cowboytoo said...

You don't get it, because you don't WANT to get it.

I understand.

Jinx was once challenged to prove his accusations -(Opinions to you)
Instead, he resigned from the Roundup.

Howdy, ladies and germs!

I came here at the urge of two prominent Obama cheerleaders, a.k.a. Noble "I'll drink to THAT" Collins and perpetual ACLU fan Jim Keyworth. They both stated that they'd like to see opposing viewpoints on this site.

They made that mistake on KMOG this morning. :)

I hope to soon be skewering that much talked about, yet rarely seen concept called "liberal logic." Anybody up to the challenge?

Much love!

Dan,
Thanks for the enlightenment and good laugh. Well, when you get right down to it, it's more sad then funny. I've forwarded that link on to some friends that will get a kick out of it.

As far as I'm concerned Liberals are destroying what this country used to stand for, Freedom. The health care bill, EPA regulations, cap & trade, raising the national debt ceiling and Obama's czars, just to name a few. It's a scary time.

Dan Varnes said...

I've heard people say that there is just too much doom and gloom out there, and that we should 'lighten up' a bit.

To my way of thinking, if you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

I'm really sincere when I say this: Optimism, at this point in our history, is ignorance. It may better be termed as cowardice.

Dan Varnes said...

Here's a well written story about not only what has happened to the USA, but what will very likely happen in the fast approaching future.

It's not a very pleasant read, but it's very factual.

It'd be a valuable story to read if you truly want to be informed, instead of just being opinionated.

"I like Obama's health care bill and the fact that it will reduce the national debt long term..."

So you "like it," eh?

Do you like it enough to overlook the unconstitutional parts of it?

Lowering the national debt by getting the government involved...
That'd be hilarious if you were joking, but I can see that you're not.

I there ANY faction of our federal government that runs efficiently?

How about the Post Office? Amtrak? The Pentagon? Medicare/Medicaid?

But THIS time, it will be different?

Really?

Cowboytoo said...

Dan (Chicken Little) Varnes tells us the sky is falling, so, given his omniscient observation point, we had best listen. He is, after all, supremely well qualified to advise us. Isn't he?

O.K. like the rest of us, Varnes is a citizen and absolutely allowed to state his viewpoints. Too bad, though, that he blocks anything except Doomday scenarios from his reading or investigation.
According to him, we might just as well crawl into a hole with a good bottle of booze and pull up the covers.
Hey, I know where a good bottle of booze can be purchased.
Varnes says you are either ignorant or stupid if you don't "get it."
Well, for all the ignorant and stupid folks out there who feel the best way to get to shore is to paddle, not whine at the captain, I can assure you there is at least as much information on how to make things better as there is on why we are doomed.
The poor bastards at Bastogne, Belgium felt the same way, most likely.
As for raising the debt ceiling, this has been done by congresses under both parties for a long, long time. Only once in the last fifty years or so, under the Clinton Administration, has there been an opportunity to hold it steady. It MAY be an Achilles heel, indeed, but to claim that Doomsday is absolutely DECREED is to ignore many brilliant economists who are, at least looking for other alternatives.

Mr. Varnes can cite you chapter and verse why you should embrace anarchy and chaos. This is the world he lives in.

He is welcome to it.

Some are paddlers - some can only whine.

Dan Varnes said...

It's been said that "If you're not mad, you're not paying attention."

Well, I AM mad. You, on the other hand, seem happy now that "your team" is in office and running the show.

It obvious that you're quite pleased with being fed a stream of "info" from the Democrat PR machine and that you have little interest in hearing the OTHER side of the story. "My mind's made up---don't confuse me with the facts!"

It's true that America has many people who are just like you, but it's also true that America wouldn't exist if our Founding Fathers had felt the same way.

That brings up another old saying: "Ignorance is bliss."

Not only is it "blissful," it's one of the main reasons that Obama is in office.

ANOTHER GREAT QUOTE:
"If a Nation Expects to Be Ignorant and Free, in a State of Civilization, It Expects What Never Was and Never Will Be."

T. Jefferson

I probably need to translate that for the leftists out there. What Jefferson was trying to say was that, you simply CANNOT be both stupid and free at the same time.

Stupid people (sorry to be so blunt, but not really!) cast their votes for "change" and elected a liberal president and a liberal congress. They traded their votes for the promise of a bunch of "free stuff" from the public trough.

To sum it up, there is no way to be both stupid and free!

Jefferson knew this, Obama voters don’t.

Cowboytoo said...

As I have repeatedly said, you. like the rest of us, are entitled to an opinion. Yours continually appears to be based on negativity and a strong judgemental bias.
That's rather sad in MY opinion.

I spoke out against Mr. Bush quite often while I watched America come close to becoming a new Nazi entity. I watch now as Mr. Obama
(and a host of Many others) attempts to change eight years of fiscal neglect and political tragedy. The differences are stark and dramatic.
It will take YEARS, at best, to give America back its pride and true shining place on the hill. It may, indeed, not happen.
It definitely will not happen if determined folks like Mr. Varnes succeed in preventing it.

I don't expect to ever understand why destruction is so much more peoular with some folks than construction.

I repeat for my last time -
I prefer people in my boat who are paddlers, not whiners.

I'm willing to give Obama a chance, and I'm also willing to toss him out on his ear if he doesn't move up on the learning curve a little faster. We didn't get in this mess overnight and we're not going to get out of it overnight just because we want to.

BTW I saw the most gorgeous sunrise ever the other morning. That's something no politician can take credit for.

Dan Varnes said...

QUOTE: "Your… (opinion) continually appears to be based on negativity and a strong judgemental bias."

My comments might sound negative, but only to an uninformed person. If someone has taken the necessary time to become informed, then my comments will only come off as realistic. The things that are happening in our country simply cannot be truthfully portrayed as "positive."

I understand that it may “seem rather sad” in YOUR opinion, yet you’ve not shown me that you’re even aware of 10% of the problems that are coming our way---well documented problems, not doomsday prophesy.

But maybe I’m wrong. Maybe there exists some secret program or upbeat financial trend in America’s future that I don’t know about. Maybe YOU do? Please enlighten me. I’m serious. Where are they? WHAT are they?

If you’re unable to factually state the reasons for your optimism, I just might have to start referring to you as “Pollyanna” since it seems to fit.

From Wikipedia:
"Pollyanna Whittier is a young orphan whose philosophy of life centers on what she calls "The Glad Game," an optimistic attitude she learned from her father. The game consists of finding something to be glad about in every situation. It originated in an incident one Christmas when Pollyanna, who was hoping for a doll in the missionary barrel, found only a pair of crutches inside. Making the game up on the spot, Pollyanna's father taught her to look at the good side of things—in this case, to be glad about the crutches because "we don't need 'em!"

Feel free to play “The Glad Game” all you wish, but it will never change the fact that America is headed for a true, grinding depression that will make the 1929 depression look rather quaint. This time, though, it’s very likely to be coupled with violent behavior from both government employees and American citizens.

Oh MY! What would Polyanna have to say about THAT!

QUOTE: I spoke out against Mr. Bush quite often while I watched America come close to becoming a new Nazi entity.

You’ve proven once again that you’re not properly informed on America’s present situation. As poorly as GWB ran America, he cannot, even in the most ridiculous of terms, be compared to Hitler or Nazism. Only Air America shock-jocks and misguided, first-year college students refer to GWB as “a Nazi.”

One need only give a cursory view towards the Obama administration to see that he is behaving as a virtual clone of GWB in many, many aspects. He has kept on many of the players in the Bush admin for his own admin. Is that the kind of “change” that you were hoping for?

It’s really more of a case of “business as usual.” Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan, Iraq, torture, bailouts for banksters, The Patriot Act… very little change, just a different skin-tone for the Presidential face that continues to spew the same lies.

No surprise, though. Obama's a political puppet, just like GWB was a political puppet. They’re are both controlled by the same handlers...

(continued)

Dan Varnes said...

QUOTE: "I watch now as Mr. Obama (and a host of Many others) attempts to change eight years of fiscal neglect and political tragedy. The differences are stark and dramatic."

"Fiscal neglect?" Hogwash! Bush doubled the size of the federal government in his eight year term. He did it by massive spending. Your savior, Obama, has TRIPLED the size of the federal government, and he's done it in less than ONE year. Obama has accomplished this simply by out-spending GWB. "Stark and dramatic" spending, to use your phrase.

Please show me the differences between B.O. and GWB that you wrote about. Please show me the much talked about “change” that Obama had promised you.

Just one of Obama’s many promises was that he would (VERBATIM QUOTE) "…start bringing our troops home on the very first day of my administration… and you can take that to the bank." (END quote)

Barry O’s promises are obviously quite different than his actions---why haven’t you noticed?

At least Lil' Bush knew better than to make so many unrealistic promises.

QUOTE:"It will take YEARS, at best, to give America back its pride and true shining place on the hill. It may, indeed, not happen."

Oh, quit being so negative. :)

I’d really enjoy it if you would tell us just HOW it was that GWB brought down the economies of every nation on Earth---It IS his fault, right?

QUOTE: "I repeat for my last time - I prefer people in my boat who are paddlers, not whiners."

I repeat (for the first time :)) that I do NOT EVER wish to be "in your boat," under ANY circumstances. If I ever found myself there, I will have made a VERY grievous mistake. I choose to be a shipmate of people who are realists, not eternally cockeyed optimists. Optimists are the type of people that will try to talk you into rowing a 10 foot dingy to Polynesia to get some fresh papaya while only packing a tuna sandwich and a bag of chips as provisions.
You can row THAT boat by yourself.

Enjoy your papaya in Polynesia, Polyanna.

Sigh,

O.K. let's give this a try, even though it's near impossible to convince a terrified man to come down from a bridge.

Yes, the Bush Administration must take full responsibility for the crash of 2008. Regardless of what led up to it, they had eight full years to spot dangerous trends in the lending markets and take action. They didn't until the very last minute when banks and major lending institutions were crashing right and left.

Why they didn't has a lot to do with the disaster in Iraq, which is a parallel story. (Inflation and easy money made it appear less troubling to fund the war.)

The U.S., and by extension the world, economy was allowed to become extraordinarily dependent upon exotic "Deritives" and other Ponzi-like mathmatmatical equations
which had no concrete foundation.

Suddenly, someone pulled back the curtain.
No more credit

No credit basically means no money, which means disaster in the economy from top to bottom. Markets of every type run on money the way autos run on gasoline.

No money also means no way to guarantee debt re-payment, and no buyers for foreign goods.

An old old adage states, "When the U.S. coughs, the world gets a cold." Well, the U.S. went into spasm.

The fact that Mr. Varnes fails to comprehend just how intertwined the world is economically and that the U.S. is still the main engine which runs things should point out just how UNinformed he really is.

To be Continued . . .

Cowboytoo said...

The Bush Administration rushed to bail out the lending institutions. In fairness, failing to do so would have caused complete collapse with very little hope of Ever recovering. Also in fairness, much of this initial bailout guarantee has been paid back due to a partial recovery.

The Obama Administration was then faced with an economy stopped dead in its tracks, even though the lending institutions now had money to lend. WHO could borrow? Most of the real collateral from the last eight years was wiped out.

The new administration copied a hopeful solution from the days of the Great Depression and began to create a "Stimulus Package" which basically meant they (with the Federal Reserve) printed I.O.U.'s to be issued in massive quantities to get business moving. Much of this is still in a slow moving pipeline, but already some has helped out right here in Arizona with state projects.
(I say I.O.U.'s, because the intent is to get the economy rolling again to the point where tax revenues will be greatly increased - a two-edged sword, perhaps, but the only real option at present.)

There are many scenarios which will play out over the next several years. No one person absolutely knows for certain exactly what will take place.

We have bailed out of a burning plane and pulled the "rip-cord." on a parachute. If the chute opens properly in time, and we don't fall into a volcano, there is a pretty good CHANCE that we can recover to a large degree from the prospect of total economic wipe out, which is what we were facing a few short months ago. We most likely won't see "Prosperity" for a long time, however. The fight is for survival and ultimate recovery - not instant success.

Comparing the Bush Administration to the Nazis was extreme I agree. Perhaps I went too far there. When an administration can get away with total lies and be able to completely manipulate a country to satisfy a small power-hungry cabal - one which cannot seem to satisfy an age-old lust for world domination through military power -the parallels are tempting to make.
Even though the hold-overs are few, Mr. Obama has wisely kept Mr. Gates as Defense Secretary, since this man obviously had great differences with Rumsfeld and Cheany and is pragmatic enough to attempt to disengage the U.S. from their madness.
I won't go on. Many readers are getting bored with my taking up so much room in this arena. There are plenty of good books, Internet sites, and reference articles which are available to an open mind.

The laws of Physics deny the possibility of a Bumblebee being able to fly. Their body weight is simply too much for their tiny wings to lift. Mr. Varnes is too myopic to observe that Bumblebees fly all around us.

When the U.S. Army was trapped in Bastogne, Belguim during WWII, a small group of soldiers in foxholes held off a mighty Germans tank invasion in spite of overwhelming odds.

When things appear grim, you only have two choices. Only ONE of those choices offers any hope of improvement. I choose to seek improvement.

I don't want anyone in my foxhole telling me all is lost and that I must surrender.

If Mr. Varnes, or anyone else, wishes to continue this conversation privately, I am available at noblefc@hotmail.com
Let's keep this arena open for plenty of folks who have other topics to discuss.

This was my QUESTION:Did G.W. Bush cause our present, worldwide financial crisis?

QUOTE, from "cowboytoo"----"Yes, the Bush Administration must take full responsibility for the crash of 2008. The Bush Administration rushed to bail out the lending institutions."

Well, now I just feel sorry for you. You're so poorly informed that you have to invent history while conveniently forgetting that your savior, Obama spoke long and loud about the dire need to save the financial institutions that were "too big to fail." I'd mention Glass-Steagall to point you to the real reasons for America's present financial woes, but what good would it do?

QUOTE, "cowboytoo"----"In fairness, failing to do so would have caused complete collapse with very little hope of Ever recovering."

You've just blown a bunch of holes in your own argument. Good shootin,’ “cowboy!”

"Bush did it, Bush is to blame. But Bush had to do it."

Oh my! That's SUCH a poor way to win an argument.

QUOTE, "cowboytoo"---“Also in fairness, much of this initial bailout guarantee has been paid back due to a partial recovery."

That's not even remotely true, but in your world, is Bush still a Nazi/world economy destroyer? According to you, "Well…, uh...YES!" And also, "Well…, uh... NO!"

Please make up your mind before posting here again. You're just confusing the issues.

QUOTE "cowboytoo" "There are many scenarios which will play out over the next several years. No one person absolutely knows for certain exactly what will take place."

I can name at least TEN intelligent men and women, professionals in the financial world who DID see the breakdown coming. They’ve been writing about it constantly and warning anyone who would listen. They've been doing it for at least five years. Kathryn Austin Fitts, Paul Craig Roberts, Jim Rodgers, Gerald Celente and Kathryn Albrecht are just a few of them.

Obviously, those are people that you’ve never even heard of.

Conversely, the people that Obama has under him saw NOTHING coming (so they tell us), yet they now expect us to buy into their recovery strategy wholeheartedly and trust them implicitly with the future of our country and our very livelihoods.

Can you tell me what's wrong with THAT picture?

You got your next paragraph 100% correct, but you were talking about the wrong people:

"cowboytoo" WROTE: "When an administration can get away with total lies and be able to completely manipulate a country to satisfy a small power-hungry cabal - one which cannot seem to satisfy an age-old lust for world domination through military power -the parallels are tempting to make."

You just summed up the Obama/Bernanke/Geithner/Rubin financial cabal, bent on world financial domination. They actually threatened MARTIAL LAW if they didn’t get their TRILLION DOLLAR banker bailouts from the American taxpayers. When asked by congress “Who will be receiving the bailout money,” Tiny Tim Geithner said “I’m not going to tell you.”

Don’t believe it? Investigate it… You’ll see that I’m correct.

Dan Varnes said...

HEADLINE: “Obama's Cabinet Picks Not Reflective of Change”: http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/columnist/raasch/2009-02-19-2009-02-19-newpolitics_N.htm

From the article: "Although three nominees have dropped out, Obama has attempted to fill six of 15 Cabinet positions with former or current members of Congress. That 40% is higher than any elected president going back to at least Dwight Eisenhower..."

More of the same, yet B.O. wants you to believe that this is "change we can believe in."

HA!

QUOTE, "cowboytoo"---"Mr. Obama has wisely kept Mr. Gates as Defense Secretary, since this man obviously had great differences with Rumsfeld and Cheany and is pragmatic enough to attempt to disengage the U.S. from their madness.

How’s that “disengagement” going so far? Once again, you have NO IDEA what you’re talking about. Obama has been installing thousands of private contractors (AKA “mercenaries”) in Iraq and now he’s sending EVEN MORE troops to the area.

Obama’s “change” is nothing more than another LIE.

QUOTE, "cowboytoo"---"The laws of Physics deny the possibility of a Bumblebee being able to fly…”

Wrong again, “cowboy.” The laws of physics have not changed since the beginning of time. If a scientist can’t explain something, does that make it impossible?

"The bumblebee fallacy" was created by a physicist in the 1930's, back in the early days of fluid dynamics. He stated that it was impossible for a bumblebee to fly because its wings were too small.

His model of the bumblebee’s flight assumed that the wings were rigid the whole time. The facts show that a bumblebee manages to fly because its wings are flexible.
So it’s not a case of a bumblebee not being able to fly because of the laws of physics. It’s a case of a physicist announcing that a bumblebee cannot possibly fly because he had no real understanding of how their wings work.

See, “cowboytoo” You just leaned something and you’re now a little more informed. That wasn’t so painful, was it?

QUOTE, "cowboytoo":----"When things appear grim, you only have two choices. Only ONE of those choices offers any hope of improvement. I choose to seek improvement."

Judging by your past posts, you seek to ignore history while you “whistle past the graveyard.” You’re sadly lacking in knowledge regarding our first “Great Depression.” That’s inexcusable.

You have a computer in front of you. Why don’t you use it to investigate how NO government in history has EVER been able to spend it’s way out of a financial crisis. Never happened in the past---won't happen in the future, either.

THOSE are the present “laws of financial physics” and your savior Obama sure as hell isn’t going to change them. Just admit it: Obama suckered you. Quite a few others, too.

As I've said before, at this point in America's history, those who stick the fingers in their ears, close their eyes and say "La La LA! I can't hear you!!!" ARE THE PROBLEM.

Conversely, those who bring up the problems and attempt to solve them are PART OF THE SOLUTION.

And once again, we see that denial is not a river in Egypt---but it's obviously alive and well and thriving inside the posts of "cowboytoo."

It's the liberal definition of transparency. lol

Mr. Varnes "Facts" are highly selective - all chosen to "prove" that we have no business looking for better solutions to old problems. He calls all who do so, "fools."

(I'm amazed, but pleased that he does concede that sometimes a "fact" can be altered with further investigation, as in the case of the bumblebee. As you know, I am a fan of further investigation.)

I have offered alternatives to his tales of woe. As they say in law school, "I't not recommended that you attempt to argue a negative."

Mr. Varnes has dodged many of the points I have offered, others, he has only half addressed.

We could go back and forth
ad-nauseum, but I don't think we will ever agree on very much.

I favor "Do-ers," not complainers.

It doesn't take a brilliant mind to make a case for disaster. History is ripe with those claiming the end of the world. Not long ago, a large group got together in California - gave away all their earthly belongings and watched and waited for a great space ship to come get them.

If Mr. Varnes wishes to donate all his earthly belongings to charity, that might at least make him a bit more palatable.

Anyone who wishes to wallow in the muddle rather than look for inovative solutions is certainly free to do so. I am also free to concentrate on looking for solutions. As is said, "It's a free country."
He certainly is not prohibited from continuing to state his dire warnings in full view of all who come here.

To What Purpose?

If he is right, and we are all doomed, does he have any constructive advice? I haven't noticed any.

So, listening to him - that's what you are left with. Gloom and Doom and wringing of hands. Period.

Sorry, I don't buy it, and I never will. Besides, I enjoy hard work and discovery. If I have very little time left, I choose to spend it enjoyably and positively.

Last one here, turn ON the lights.

As I read comments about what, or who is to blame for this mess we have now I wonder if any of the Bush/Republican bashers have ever been to or seen You Tube? There are many videos clearly showing who, what, where and why the mortgage lenders failed. Go to YOU TUBE, in the search block type in Democrats Lied. There you will find a list of video's. Click on the video that reads, Shocking Video Unearthed Democrats in their own words covering Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Cowboytoo writes, When an administration can get away with total lies and be able to completely manipulate a country to satisfy a small power-hungry cabal.

Again all lies to blame Bush and the Republicans. Go to YOU TUBE and search for Democrats Lied, People Died. In this video you will clearly see high ranking Democrats from Secretary of State M. Albright, Speaker of the House N. Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader H. Reid, National Security Advisor S. Berger and too many more to list speaking of the clear and present danger Iraq and their leader S. Hussein pose to the United States and the Region with WEAPONS of MASS DESTRUCTION. Yes that's right it was Bush telling them all this. No Way Jose. The Director of Central Intelligence was a Clinton Administration Appointee. You can watch him testify to Congress of the threat to National Security that S. Hussein possessed, and was trying to obtain. Also United Nations Weapon Inspectors told of this threat.

I do not believe Liberal Democrats even care to hear the truth about what is going on with Health Care or the Economy. As long as they get what they think they are entitled to from hard working Americans. Noticed I did not say Government?

Oh, Wait. Maybe you're "special," and the the new socialist government will not kill you. Even though socialists killed about 100 million in this century; let's see, was the title "Death By Government," or "Murder by Government." I can't recall - it's old news to those who have been paying attention; and care about other humans, even the "weak" ones.

Dan Varnes said...

QUOTE: "As long as they get what they think they are entitled to from hard working Americans. Noticed I did not say Government?"

Exactly. That's the typical liberal mindset that I've noticed for the past 20+ years.

Try this with a liberal sometime: Ask them "Do you think that government should provide the needy citizens in our society with food, clothing and shelter? Do you also think that our government should be able to "appropriate" those things from "The Rich People" in America who have so much more than the poor people will ever have?"

It's amazing how many will nod their heads and proclaim "Yes, that's what I think."

They're so dumbed-down and ignorant to history that they won't realize that they've just agreed to the main plank of the Communist party: "From each, according to their means. To each, according to their needs."

And sadly, a lot of liberals don't even care if it's a Communist principle or not. They're fat, dumb and happy and habitually expecting government to do many things for them.

That's just one of the reasons why America is in such bad shape right now, no matter how many Pollyanna's are out there, running around and telling us to "Look on the sunny side!"

Pollanna sure wouldn't take the time to look for a rotting hull in her boat before she crossed the ocean. Why should she? She's a cockeyed optimist.

But smart, realistic folks certainly would...

Two wise admonishments that consistently have applied, and continue to apply, to human nature as long as there have been people on the planet:

1) Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

2) A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything you have.

Perhaps if everyone in the United States could read these powerful messages, then we might have an "informed educated electorate"

I see only one possibility for the survival of the country - elect Dan Varnes for President and All American for VP in 2012. Who could then challenge the fact that they were chosen by an "informed educated electorate?"

Question: The obvious conclusion to the statement that:
"Obama never would have been elected in the first place if we had had an informed, educated electorate." is that the majority of Americans are uneducated and uninformed. Further, this assumes that you are omniscient, knowing such absolute truth. The only people that I know of claiming omniscience are either in therapy or confined to small rooms.
somewhere.
IF it can be proven that you do, in fact, possess the power to look into the minds and hearts of every single American, why do you keep such vital knowledge from ALL your countrymen? Why not simply put on your cape and fly to Washington?

IF, in fact, only educated informed voters (by some test which I'm sure you could devise) were allowed to cast their vote, and assuming that educated informed voters would never have voted for Barack Obama, that only leaves John McCain and Sarah Palin as the choices.
Sarah Palin - one heartbeat away from being President of The United States - a breath taking thought. THAT'S your idea of an educated informed electorate?

Perhaps we should bring back the Poll Tax and literacy tests at the polls. Many of our founding fathers actually advocated that only wealthy land owners be allowed to vote. It was assumed that only wealthy land owners could be relied upon to be informed and educated. Perhaps that is still true. At least it wouldn't take nearly as long to count the vote.
Incidently the vote is actually cast by Electors from each state. Perhaps you knew that. It seems fairly likely that Electors are reasonably informed and educated.

As always, however, I bow to your omniscience.

Are you still going with the Mayan calendar predicting Dec. 21, 2012 as the end of the world, or have you calculated your own date? I want to be educated and informed.

Cowboytoo said...

You need new epithets, Anonymous.
"Communist" is Way old and worn out.
There are 538 members of the U.S. Congress and hundreds, perhaps thousands of FBI, CIA, Military members, not ounting the Supreme Court and thousands of other high ranking civilians in Washington and Governors, etc. around the country.

NO ONE calls Obama a Communist.

No One, that is, except a small few who are fed buzz words and false information by some fringe groups. You can tell these folks easily, because they throw around the same cliches, as if that provides some kind of truth. No originality or depth of thought.

"Communist" "Socialist" "Secret Muslim" we hear these slurs hurled like schoolyard taunts at Recess.

Where were you, Anon, and the other fringers for over a full year when Obama was winning Primary after Primary and being examined thouroughly by the American people? Why wait until now to show your spite?

It's possible, of course, that only you and a handful of other fringers know the real truth. I don't think shouting outdated epithets is going to gain you a lot of followers, though.

Let me think about this for a moment:

Hmmm - Millions of good Americans and the vast majority of high ranking American leaders speak of The President in respectful terms, whether they approve of some of his measures or not.

Anonymous and a fringe handful accuse him of being a Communist.

Hmmm, let me think about that.

What if the Lap Dog (LD) media had actually explained that BHO’s entire background is America hating Radical Communism? What if the LD media had exposed BHO’s lies about his relationship with the terrorist bomber Bill Ayers and all the other commies?
Maybe they could have looked into his actual school, travel, previous claims of citizenship, akas, and all the other scrutinies they would have subjected a conservative candidate to; and did subject Sarah Palin to.
Perhaps if the (LD) media had explained that a “Certificate of Live Birth” from the state of Hawaii was available to persons not born in the USA. Or they could have explained any of the other factors involved in the reason and requirement to qualify as a natural born citizen to serve as POTUS.
But, what the hey! You can’t expect too much from a group that seems to get their political and history information from late night comedians. And what’s with all the buzz words and talking points they use among themselves? Sometimes the LD media sound like a hive of insects rather than free thinking humans.

He was winning Primary's because Acorn was out there giving cigarettes to unregistered voters and intimidated the areas with Black Panthers and thugs. And just like you, so many were hypnotized whenever he got behind the TelePrompTer. Have you ever noticed how poorly he does without it? Almost as bad as that Boob he had to pick as his VP. And you all were so concerned what might happen if McCain died while in office, could Sarah Palin handle being President? And you have no concerns about Old Joe Biden if had to take over for Obama! It is somewhat pathetic that a small group of "Dark Siders" continue to cling desperately to
False "information" about Barack Obama.

It it obvious that no amount of truth is able to convince them of their error. They are incapable of letting go their precarious grip for fear of falling into the abyss they themselves conjur up.

They are psychologically dependent on clinging to "facts" which have overwhelmingly been refuted over and over.

In a similar rigid mindset in the 1600's a terrified group of people refused to believe the world is round.

2. Will you formally request of the President of the United States that he authorize you to reveal every detail of information included in the original vital records of his birth maintained by the State of Hawaii Department of Health ?

3. Can you name the hospital in which President Obama was born ?

4. Can you tell us the name of the attending physician at President Obama's birth according to the vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii Department of Health?

Why all the unanswered questions? Would it not put this all to an end if only he said yes instead of saying no to releasing his information. What is he trying to hide? I'm sure you have an answer name caller. So lets hear it.

Cowboytoo said...

They are absolutely NOT unanswered questions. They have been answered over and over by many many sources. The quote you read was from Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health.
Of course, he could be a fraud or a plant or a complete idiot, but what are the odds?

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear a petition concerning this, stating that it is "frivilous and without merit."
Of course, the U.S. Supreme Court may be only a secret group plotting the overthrow of America, or they may be frauds or idiots, but what are the odds?

Barack Obama was thoroughly investigated by the F.B.I and the C.I.A. He was looked at VERY carefully by every single member of Congress. For over a year, the whole world had a chance to check him out.
Only after he received approval from the Democrat Party (some 50,000 strong, who completely checked him out and approved him) did the "Conspiracy!!' rodents come running from dark places.

NO ONE of any stature or believability has anything to do with this childish rattle. The very fact that groups like those Anonymous and All American (who is far from that) represent cling so desperately to such garbage is that they are insecure (see paranoid) individuals who have lost all reasoning ability.
The whole world is passing them in a different direction, but their martyrdom requires them to cling to ridiculous positions.

One dictionary definition of a martyr is a person who has suffered a loss of comforting in childhood and clings to a mythical "greatness" or "superiority" as compensation.

"Those who have eyes to see, let them see.
Those who have ears to hear, let them hear"

Otherwise this can go on forever. You either believe the provable truth or you cling desperately to some dark version of a great conspiracy.

All you have to do is research.

Another false claim by you name caller, the SUPREME COURT HAS NOT MADE ANY SUCH RULING AS YOU HAVE CLAIMED.

The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was
awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation
Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim
foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun
that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence
that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying
for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a
firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about
Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as president. When reached for
comment in London , where he has been in meetings with British Prime
Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue. DOH!!!!!

Still More!!!
In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups,
Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to
hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in
a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey . This lawsuit claims Obama's
dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president.
Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof
of Obama's citizenship or qualification to serve as president. Gary Kreep of
the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their
investigation of Obama's campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama
has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven
law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his
personal records. WOW! Spent nearly a million bucks to block releasing his records. Wonder how come. I'm sure name caller will give some more false info to explain this.

Everyone - Please read this news release from Dec. 5, 2008

In particular, read the last paragraph.

This story is over a year old, but it underlines the desperate willingness of the far out right to cling to any crumb of hope for their cause. See All American's claim in a previous blog, then read the real truth.
Incidently The Supre Court refused to hear this case.

Dec. 5, 2008
"The Supreme Court plans to meet Friday to decide whether to hear a case that could determine whether President-elect Barack Obama ever becomes the nation's president.

Justice Clarence Thomas picked up the petition to hear New Jersey attorney Leo Donofrio's lawsuit after it was denied by Justice David H. Souter. Justice Thomas referred it to the full court, which decided to distribute the case for the judges' conference.

The decision to put the case on Friday's docket resulted from more than a dozen lawsuits challenging Mr. Obama's right to be president based on his citizenship at birth. The issue preoccupied many conservative bloggers in the weeks before the Nov. 4 election.

Some legal analysts say the lawsuits have little chance of success. The Supreme Court rarely grants the kind of court orders - or stays - sought by Mr. Donofrio.

"Nothing in what we've seen from the court so far suggests any likelihood the court is actually going to take the cases," said Eugene Volokh, constitutional law professor at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law.

Nevertheless, for the lawsuit even to make it to the docket raises the possibility of an unprecedented case going before the Supreme Court . At least four of the court's nine judges must approve before the case is heard.

Mr. Donofrio originally sued New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells, seeking a court order to stop the Nov. 4 presidential election. When that was denied, he amended his complaint to stop the Electoral College from certifying Mr. Obama as the winning candidate when it meets Dec. 15.

Unlike many of the lawsuits regarding Mr. Obama's citizenship - which claim he was born on foreign soil - Mr. Donofrio's case concedes that Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii as he claims. Mr. Donofrio contends, however, that Mr. Obama is not a "natural born citizen," as Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution requires.

"Don´t be distracted by the birth certificate and Indonesia issues," Mr. Donofrio said in a statement on the Citizen Wells Web site. "They are irrelevant to Senator Obama´s ineligibility to be president"

Everyone can have an Opinion, but the truth and the law usually prevail

Cowboytoo said...

More on Obama and Scalia:

"The issue of Obama's eligibility has been raised before the Supreme Court at least four times already but has yet to be given a single hearing. Cases have been brought by Taitz, Philip Berg, Cort Wrotnowski and Leo Donofrio."

Justice Scalia has agreed to hear a petition In Chambers, but with no promise of a hearing before the full court.

Key to the arguments over Obama's eligibility is the fact that his original long-form birth certificate never has been released. A second significant factor is the multitude of documents that Obama has kept from the public.
Besides his actual birth documentation, the still-concealed documentation includes kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.
Thirdly, another significant factor is the estimated $1.7 million Obama has spent on court cases to prevent any of the documentation of his life to be revealed to the public

Obama's Leninist Strategy
By Samuel L. Blumenfeld
© 2010
Excerpt:
It seems that Marxist President Obama is taking a lesson from Vladimir Lenin, leader of the Russian
Bolsheviks who took over Russia in October 1917 and began imposing communist policies over the economy, which then led to widespread famine.
Fearing a counter-revolution, Lenin decided to make some small concessions to the capitalist and free-market instincts of the peasants and petty bourgeoisie by enacting a New Economic Policy. It was necessary to take that one step back in order to later take two steps forward.

It's too bad (for him, anyway) that Obama didn't learn the lesson that history has taught us: When you try to cover up the truth, it only makes people dig that much deeper to find it.

Buying off some low-level Hawaiian bureaucrat so as to hide his TRUE BIRTH CERTIFICATE from scrutiny positively reeks of Chicago-style dirty politics.

Obama seems to have learned THOSE lessons quite well.

Cowboytoo said...

THIS JUST IN -

Conspiracy Theory:

1. Barack Obama was not born in the United States.
It's not clear where he must have been born instead: some say Indonesia; some say Kenya (initial suggestions that Hawaiian natives weren't citizens when he was born in Honolulu in 1961 were quickly dismissed). The point, so-called birthers say, is that he wasn't born in the good old US of A, hence isn't a natural-born citizen and therefore cannot legally be president.
Proponents: Chief birther and Beverly Hills dentist and attorney Orly Taitz, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah, Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga.), former presidential and Senate candidate Alan Keyes, assorted tea partiers.

Kernel of Truth?

It's fully debunked. Forged Kenyan birth certificates have been exposed, and—despite protestations to the contrary—Obama's birth certificate has been certified by the state of Hawaii, and images have been shown on national television. And that's leaving aside plenty of circumstantial proof, like birth announcements in both major Hawaiian papers from August 1961.

Well it looks like Acorn is changing it's name. The new name is Walnut.org. They say all the bad publicity has ruined their reputation and Congress is too stupid to realize the name change and will reverse it's position of not granting money to the organization with taxpayer money.

An unnamed spokes person for Walnut, says that they will continue to demand housing and loans for unqualified people. When asked if they will seek more money from the Government, Walnut said absolutely they will. It is imperative to get that money so we can distribute more cigarettes to get people to register multiple times and therefore get their candidate elected to office who in turn will approve more money for Walnut. Now do you understand?

And Obama still claims not to have any ties to Acorn, Ooops! I mean Walnut.

Actually, Obama was born in Utah, has 12 wives and 72 kids. 2 of his kids are older than he is and are working undercover in Congress, planning to bring down America. A couple of his daughters participated in the Olympics, representing Kenya. Michelle Obama was married 3 times before she met Obama in Utah. She was a sister-wife with 29 kids.
They both have a real hard time picking out all those Christmas presents.
(This makes about as much sense as some of the other posts about Obama:)

Dean, I wonder if you're a fan of the HBO series "Big Love?" You sound like it. I sure enjoy the show.

The person you refer to as "President Obama," (legal name "Barry Soetoro") lost his U.S. citizenship when he was adopted in Indonesia.

Numerous documents show that his name at that time was Barry Soetoro.

Any legal documents that show a legal name change have never been shown to the public or have been purposely hidden by the Obama Administration.

Obama/Soetoro's VERY FIRST action was a Presidential Order which sealed his school and citizenship records. HIS VERY FIRST ACT!

These are not items of conjecture or theory---they're facts.
You may not enjoy seeing them in print, but you won't be able to disprove them.

I challenge you to try.

***

"Soetoro/Obama could have regained any U.S. citizenship status he once held upon turning 18 and by the age of 21. However, that would have entailed him to send a sworn affidavit to the Indonesian Government relinquishing his Indonesian citizenship, which he never did, and then going through the U.S. States Department to reclaim any U.S. citizenship status he once held, which he also failed to do. Thus, he to this day is an illegal immigrant."

Home Rule
[1st of 3 postings]
Friends directed me to a February 15 letter to the editor that raised interesting points concerning the Town of Payson finances. This response may not reach people who may have benefited from its reading prior to voting. The letter writer’s conclusion was that a no vote for Home Rule is in the best interests of the community. I was very curious about the points made and I too wondered why the items the writer addressed were so. I’m retired on a fixed income, taxes and spending concern me. So with a little research I answered most of my why questions about the writer’s points. I did discover it is much easier to be quick to question than it is to take the time to carefully consider the facts. Hopefully my responses will foster additional thinking, research, and debate - all in the spirit of disagreeing without being disagreeable. I congratulate you if you make it through my response to the first point, let alone the rest of the points. My sources for information when not mentioned include town finance employees and the online budgets available through the town website.

First Point
o “Since home rule was passed 30 years ago (as a constitutional amendment), Payson’s population has multiplied by four times (1978 population was 4305) when our budget has multiplied by 45 times (1978 budget was $1,267,280; current budget is $57 million). WHY?”

First, reduce the 2010 budget by $17 million. This is the amount of money given or offered Payson in the form of Federal grants and stimulus money. This money is offered and needs to be spent if it is to be accepted. As such, the $17 million needs to be reported in the budget, but is not money saved if it is not spent. Now consider the $40 million left.
If in 1978 the budget was $1.267 million then a direct proportion for population means multiplying $1.267 x 4 to total $5.068 million. Next, consider inflation. The website, http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/, appears well researched and provides an inflation calculator. The calculated inflation from 1978 to 2010 produces an inflation factor of approximately 3.323. Then $5.068 million x 3.323 creates a budget of $16.84 million. Compared to the $40 million this is a difference of $23.16 million! That is a huge WHY? Until you consider that a straight x 4 for population growth is not realistic considering: 1) infrastructure required in 1978 was very different compared to the increased physical size of Payson today; 2) many miles of dirt roads compared to mostly paved roads today and their budgeted maintenance; 3) the creation and maintenance of various recreation facilities including Taylor Pool, Green Valley Park, the Rumsey ball fields; 4) 1978 didn't have federal or state mandates that require the expenditures to be compliant with an electronic recordkeeping and public access record system; 5) today there are mandatory pension / health care benefits of + /- $3 million dollars; 6) the public safety requirements of 1978 compared to 2010 in the creation of buildings, staff, equipment; 7) the creation of a water department and the resulting state of the art filtering system and extensive operation; 8) the Home Rule formula does not recognize any expenditures related to state and federal mandates; there are many more references to how 2010 is different than 1978 and direct population and inflation comparison is not realistic.
Perhaps a better comparison is the 2010 budget with a more recent budget. Compare the 2006 – 2007 Payson budget with the 2009 – 2010 budget. The ’07 budget, with a different mayor and several different councilors, was approximately $39.395 million minus approximately $2.047 million in federal grants (p. 229 of the 06-07 budget) – leaving $37.308 million. This budget (minus the federal grants) was 29.4 times greater than 1978.
[…continued below…]

David Wise said...

[Home Rule continued…2nd of 3 postings]
The ’09-’10 budget (minus the federal grants) was 31.6 times bigger. Using an inflation factor from ’07 to ’10 of 4.5% (ignoring population growth), the ’09-’10 budget exceeded inflation by $1.011 million. This is the budget discrepancy that needs to be considered. Where in the budget is this extra $1,000,000? But since this is 2.5% of the budget minus grants I’m not too concerned. Not concerned enough to give local control of the budget to the state, which is having a hard enough time trying to create a workable state budget.

Second Point.
o “Home rule will NOT decrease our taxes. It WILL, however, limit the amount of money the town can spend. Consequently, there will be a surplus that can ultimately be used to generate the “rainy day fund” that is very badly needed.”

And the writer could just as easily said, ‘Home rule will NOT INCREASE our taxes’. Yes, it will limit the amount of money the town can spend. I’m more concerned about the millions of dollars in federal grant money that the town can’t accept or spend than the small percentage increase from the 2006 – 2007 budget. We pay federal taxes. Why shouldn’t we accept and spend that money on capital improvement projects?
I agree we need some type of “rainy day” or emergency fund. The ’09 – ’10 budget says the ‘rainy day’ fund is inactive and there are 0 dollars budgeted for this. The previous budget had $330,000 for a ‘rainy day’. But no Home Rule sends millions of dollars to an unspent fund – more than is necessary.

Third Point.
o “If, under home rule, the town needs money beyond its spending limit, it can get authorization from the state to spend the needed money. So what’s wrong with that?”

There has not been a factual case made for the state to control the town’s spending. One of the gifts of being a town is self-determination. Do you really want the state of Arizona controlling Payson’s spending? In my limited research I’ve yet to find what forms are needed and the expected process time for the approval request. And what if the state refused the authorization? I’ll trust my local elected leaders whether I voted for those persons or not. As related to the two different budgets (’06-’07 and ’09-’10) discussed in the first point, is a vote against Home Rule determined by who the leader is or what it does for the town? I suspect since the two budgets are not too dissimilar that in this case it is the former.

Fourth Point.
o “If it does not work, we don’t have to wait four years to put it back on the ballot. We can put it back on the ballot next year. So why not try it?”

Okay, sounds good, though according to Town officials there is a mandatory 2 year wait before the Home Rule Issue can be brought back for another vote if it is turned down. So, if it doesn’t work – how is that determined? Perhaps the town has lost its Parks and Rec department, more personnel are dismissed (safety people included), perhaps federal funds once refused are not accessible again, good publicly employed and elected people with the best interests of Payson at heart are discouraged and leave. Remember if Home Rule is voted down the budget is about $10 million less than the ’06 – ’07 budget when seemingly all was right with the budget. Whoa! Let’s have a do over – bring all those people back or bring others onboard – reinstate programs. Who wants to return to or work in a town with such fickle voters? What are the chances that Home Rule would be voted down the next time? No thank you. If there is something wrong with the budget there are less drastic ways to deal with it than perhaps cutting programs, services, and uprooting people.
[…continued below…]

David Wise said...

[Home Rule continued…3rd of 3 postings]
Fifth Point.
o “Of course, our town council wants it! Have you ever seen an elected official that didn’t want more money to spend?”

A general statement not supported with facts. I believe fiscally conservative elected officials and representatives dispute that statement. In another light, I believe many elected officials want to improve the quality of life for people they represent. How is this done? Usually the need is to spend money. The ’06-’07 council’s $37 million budget and the ’09-’10 council’s $40 million budget I believe reflect an honest desire to benefit the community. Also, a town official stated that when a budget is finalized it needs to reflect a maximum expenditure because if additional money is garnered from say a gas tax or other county, state or federal revenue it can not be used that budget year. The maximum budgeted expenditure does not mean all will be spent. Perhaps this might lead to a source for a greater rainy day fund.

Sixth Point.
o “By defeating Home Rule, we have our best chance to eliminate waste in our town government. Home Rule, unfortunately has led to too much waste and too many “toys” we don’t need, such as a hook and ladder truck for the fire department when we don’t have any tall buildings.”

Yes, I agree who can be for waste? But where is the waste? I need some facts. The fire truck is mentioned. Okay, a good point I think, we don’t have tall buildings. So, why “waste” the money on such a truck? Why was such a truck purchased? Who would know why? The fire department personnel would, but I’d probably take their reasoning cautiously, since they’d try to justify it. Okay, so take a trip down to the main fire station – talk with several firemen. Convince me.
I was told that the main reason for the truck purchase was that it allowed fire fighters to safely attack certain fires in large structures such as Walmart or Home Depot where there is such a large expanse of roof that using the extended ladder from above is much safer than sending fireman inside and being subjected to collapsing walls and roofs. Also, it was explained that there are 2- and 3- story houses in the area that may require long extensions. Too, there are some structures that are more easily and safely reached with the extension especially when the approaching road does not allow the fire truck to be near the structure. In addition, towns the size of Payson must meet certain equipment requirements to attain a desired safety level rating. The purchase and use of the big truck enabled Payson to earn a higher safety rating and as a result the cost of insurance was lower.
A few direct questions and responses pertaining to better firefighting, preventing injuries, and saving insurance premiums may convince some this is not a “waste”.

In the last paragraph the writer states: “With a 45-fold increase in our budget when the population grew by only four times, it is obvious that our elected officials are not willing to control the spending, so it is time to send them a message. Voting NO on Home Rule will give us an extra measure of control and will eliminate all the fat and waste!”

It has previously been explained how the budget increase is 31.6 times that in 1978, and the ’06-’07 budget was 29.4 times that in 1978 – with a different mayor and council and no such vehement disapproval. And the huge increase compared to 1978 can be expected with the changes in the town’s physical size, infrastructure, and supporting departments. Voting no on home rule will give the state an extra measure of control and drastically reduce the budget from ’06–’07 levels. It will be worthwhile reading about additional fat and waste that is included in the 2010 budget and how it is different from any fat and waste in ’06–’07.

Excellent research and exposition,
David Wise. Those who want to know the truth can usually find it. Being willing to Accept it is another matter.
There is a faction in this town (Loosely connected through self interest and paranoia)
which defines the ancient Biblical definition of Pharisees:

They "strain out a gnat but swallow a camel."

They are consumed by minutia, but are blind to the obvious.

Sadly, like George Custer, the only way these folks ever change is when they are finally confronted by overwhelming truth. Even then, they go down with guns blazing. Attempting to debate rationally is useless. I know.

I suppose some of the anti= Home Rule foks hope to one day walk through the ashes of Payson looking for bargains. WHAT bargains are to be had, though, if
very little of real value is left?

This is no longer the wild west where you could cut down some trees and build a log hut and claim your fourty acres.

If Home Rule fails (and I honestly think there are far more inteligent folks around who will make sure it passes), but IF it fails - watch for a rapid decline in lifestyle choices and a subsequent migration away from the deteriorating environment.

Passing it won't stop the carpers and naysayers, though.
They are in a class by themselves and will always be with us.

One of them wrote recently,
about, "Pie in the Sky" projects which the town has spent much money on without any returns.
I asked this person to list the many projects he refered to, for close examination, but he has chosen to ignore the question.

All any of them know how to do is complain.

Can you imagine a town with only fools left to run it?

The "Main Street Redevelopment Project," for one. Pie-in-the sky, for sure.

I really wish that only property owners could vote on propositions that would increase property taxes.

And I'll bet that Pollyana Collins is a long-time renter. Probably never met a tax increase that he didn't like. It's all "for the children," of course.

Cowboytoo said...

THAT's the "Long List" of "pie in the sky" activities that came to no good result?
Where are all the others referred to?

By the way, the Main Street study is still viable and may be acted upon in some form when money becomes available again. If not, then it was not "wasted" taxpayer dollars, because most of it came from grants and the rest from an allocated account for the purpose it served. The town Council didn't take away money from the Fire or Sanitation Dept. for the study.

You see, folks, this is the kind of stuff these Blind leading the Blind put forth as their guiding principles. They take stabs in the dark and hope enough other blind folks will be convinced.

If Home Rule is defeated by these malcontents, I hope they will all run for Mayor and City Council of what is left of Payson. There will be about enough people left to fill all the positions, but then who will they complain to?

I get a monthly check from the government by the way. It's from Social Security. Called "Survivors Benefits". It goes to me because my husband isn't alive to receive it. (May he RIP.) And I have Medicare health insurance.
So tell me how this is wrong, OK? Tell me why I should not be taking this money. Tell me it doesn't matter that I worked from the time I was 17 years old until just a few years ago, I shouldn't collect anything from the government.

Yes, I agree. I never miss an episode.

I always wonder how many of the local LDS people here in the Payson area watch the show? As a non-Mormon, I find it very to be a very interesting show, but if that's your chosen religion, it might make it a little hard to watch. Maybe they just laugh... I don't know.

Hey, how about the Showtime series called "True Blood." Do you watch it, also? In my opinion, it's just as good as "Big Love."

Dan, I haven't seen True Blood, I'll have to check it out. My programming also gives me Showtime. I watch "Dexter" when it's on. I saw an awards show where the guy that plays Dexter received an award, Michael Hall, but boy, he looked so ill. He's suffering from cancer but they say he's "OK." Sure didn't look OK to me.
I'll probably make all my Mormon friends mad at me when I say I left the "church" many years ago because of the hypocrisy in that particular ward. Maybe that's why I love "Big Love" so much, it reminds me so much of the church I was in. The guys didn't have multiple wives and I never saw any of the women slice a guys arm off, but their mind set was about like Big Love. I really get a chuckle out of it.

But I plan on contacting them and saying I just can't afford it anymore since they increased the fees. I've had real good luck with other companies, they will sometimes accommodate you just to keep you signed up. I'll see if it works this time.
It's the only thing I do at night, I'm too old to go out and party, so the TV is my entertainment.:)

An idea whose time has come

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they didn't pay into Social Security, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that is being considered...in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop. This is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come.

Oh, LOOK! The leftist, liberal loonies have a BRAND NEW WORD to throw around at those that don't want any part of the socialist/Marxist/Fascist "paradise" that Barry Soetoro is building for us.

What's the word?

"WINGNUT"

Wow! Is there some kind of liberal newsletter going around that mandates the use of "wingnut" at every opportunity?

There is Overwhelming proof of Obama's legitimate citizenship by now. The truth is always unwelcome to a closed mind.

In the animal world, there are known instances of some who prefer to foul their own nests rather than seek fresh suroundings. In the human world, they are known as wingnuts.

Dan Varnes said...

QUOTE: "There is Overwhelming proof of Obama's legitimate citizenship by now."

NO, there is NOT. Once again, you are wrong.

Since you obviously have never, and WILL NEVER seek out any other viewpoint or evidence regarding Obama's record of U.S. citizenship, you're completely in the dark and seem to truly enjoy wallowing in your ignorance.

Barry Soetoro is Obama's true, legal name. NO EXISTING DOCUMENTATION has never surfaced that shows he has legally changed his name to Barrack Hussein Obama.

The truth really is unwelcome to a closed mind---and your posts stand as glaring proof.

Remember: You may not like a fact, but doesn't make the fact any less true. The FACT that Obama has spent in excess of $1,000,000 in order to avoid presenting his long form birth certificate would give any logical person doubt as to Obama's citizenship record.

But I realize that you're just not that "logical person" that I mentioned.

Cowboytoo said...

Quite the reverse.

NO legitimate questions remain. The proof is concrete and accepted by all but a few die-hard hold outs who resemble the last Japanese soldiers on Iwo Jima.

Ask your Republican Senators (IF you even trust THEM)

Hold out if you will. It won't change facts.

LOL at Cowboytoo!!! The proof is concrete, but where is it? I wouldn't consider the doubting public as 'a few die hards'.

Cowboytoo said...

Ask John Kyl and John McCain.

Dan Varnes said...

McCain and Kyl? They have nothing to do with Obama's lack of birth certificate documentation. Both of them HAVE won their political offices repeatedly, term after term, which we WILL NOT be saying about Barry Soetoro in three years.

"ONE and he's DONE."

Now I'll try to make this as simple as I can---so simple that even a liberal might be able to understand it.

When lil' Barry Soetoro was born, WHERE EVER HE WAS BORN, he was born to a Kenyan citizen. His father hailed from Kenya... Remember?

Now, at birth, Lil' Barry Soetoro immediately had DUAL-CITIZENSHIP bestowed upon him. That's the law over there. Barry had both ________ (fill in the blank) citizenship and also a legal, KENYAN citizenship at the same time.

Did you know that by our U.S. Constitution, a dual-citizen is NOT permitted to ever become an American President? That's the law over here.

There! Now that wasn't so hard, was it?

One more item: Neither Barry (nor his parents) ever legally changed his name to "Barrack Hussein Obama," either. That's why people that study these things and KNOW the facts refer to him as "Barry Soetoro," which is his true, legal name.

I wonder how Michelle Soetoro feels about all of this???

Cowboytoo said...

So, you are saying that your Senators and Congressmen do not know of these things? Or are you saying that they are complicit in the conspiracy?

WHEN have THEY ever brought up this subject? Why not? Do only shadow figures seem to know the REAL truth.

This get more and more pathetic.

Why are THEY (and the entire rest of Congress and the Judiciary and the entire Federal establishment and almost everyone else on the planet not as up in arms about this as you are?

Obviously (in your mind) you know more than they. Right?

More and more pathetic.

It's a moot point at best, Sammy.

We have a duly elected President whose authenticity is unchallenged by Any Legitimate party in Any recognized place of authority, and That ain't gonna change. His signature on a document makes it law, in spite of a handful of pathetic holdouts.

You can forever stay in your cave on Iowa Jima and fight WWII if you choose, but you won't change reality.

Now, enough is enough.

Be sure to check under your bed again tonight. Just because the monsters aren't there when you look doesn't mean they aren't just cleverly hiding.

I'm tired of this sillyness.

Our Glorious Leader has done it again. Flapping his lips without thinking or using a tele-prompter for help.

Barry Soetoro was at a local rally running his mouth about something he knows nothing about. I say this because is is very clear he did not read the bill that Arizona passed.

His stupid example of why the law may be unconstitutional was this. A man walks to the ice cream truck with his son. He is approached by a police and asked for his identification. The man, a dark skinned Latino left his house without his wallet. He could not prove his identity and was therefore arrested. This is a complete crock. Here is Barry running his mouth again just like the time he spoke without the facts when police arrested his friend the belligerent professor.

As the anointed one, Barry should learn to keep him mouth shut until he has all the facts and has read any documentation pertaining to the subject.

This law is one step closer to making Arizona safer. Is this law perfect? No, but we have to start somewhere.

There will be many more challenges to come. But lets put the trust in our law enforcement to do the job the have sworn to uphold.

He's not the only one. I cannot believe how ill-informed about this bill the rest of the country is. The protesters look like a bunch of idiots. Did any of you watch the report by Mike Watkiss last night on channel 3? It was about a carjacking, and the victims were alleged to be illegals. Here is a copy of an email I sent to Watkiss a few minutes ago. I'll let you know if he responds.
Hi Mike, I really enjoy your stories, been following you and your career for a long time. I especially want to thank you for your coverage of the stories about Warren Jeffs and his escapades.

But I'm writing about a different issue, a story you reported on last night about the car jacking victims that "almost didn't report the incident." There was an slight suggestion the victims were illegals, the lady said "in process" or something like that.

" Carjacking victims almost did not report to police due to immigration status
Posted on June 3, 2010 at 8:47 PM

Updated yesterday at 8:48 PM

Mike Watkiss reports they were carjacked at gunpoint but almost did not call police because the victims thought their immigration status might turn them into the criminals. "

Were the victims questioned? Handcuffed? Sent to ICE? Possibly to be deported? Taken from their family?

The reason I'm asking is because this is the way the Senate Bill 1070 is being spun by media and outsiders. (Outsiders, as in, not living in Arizona.) At the end of your story a policeman said he was glad the victims reported the crime, you said something to the effect..this kind of cooperation might dry up because of the SB1070 bill. You left it at that.

I would really, really like to see you do a follow up on what transpired after that. Were the victims turned into criminals? Were they arrested, jailed, etc? What happened after that?

I think you owe it to your fans to report "the Rest of the Story" and if the victims were not harassed or questioned, you should report that too. Maybe it would help calm some of the needless worry.

The SB1070 is about illegal CRIMINALS coming here to do bad things. It's not about grabbing people off the street and harassing them, arresting them, deporting them, because they have brown skin.

I would really appreciate someone in the media showing the other side of the coin, and I hope it's you.

(I'm also sending to one of our local reporters)

Cowboytoo said...

Seems so simple, doesn't it?
What part of "illegal" is difficult to understand?

BUT

Should we make allowances for "illegal" depending on the circumstances?

AND
(the most controversial point of all)

HOW
is illegality to be determined? Under what circumstances?

I'm pretty much a "hard liner" on this subject. To me, "Illegal" speaks for itself.

Strict, blind enforcement, however, perhaps under murky circumstances, cannot be lightly
accepted.

A friend, (an excellent attorney,) once told me, "Often, the law has nothing to do with right or wrong.
It has to do with the law."

I don't believe SB1070 should be overturned.

BUT, it's a little more complicated than I first believed.

I am so sick of the "we don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem" mantra. It's usually coupled with "cut taxes on business and it will create jobs and raise revenue in the long run". Lets review history for a moment.

Ronald Reagan is elected in 1980. He cuts taxes. by the end of his 8year presidency, the Nation's debt has balooned to more than twice the size than when he took office.

Bill Clinton is elected in 1992. He raises taxes on the wealthy. The economy takes off. Deficits are reduced, we actually have a surplus for a few years, and 23 million jobs are created.

George W Bush is elected in 2000. He lowers taxes on the wealthy. By the end of his two terms the debt had grown by four trillion dollars. That's $4,000,000,000,000folks! Where the hell was the tea party in 2005? And of course, lets not forget that by the end of his tenure the economy was shedding jobs by the hundreds of thousands a month to go along with all that debt.

So now... Given all this data, with a straight face, Republicans are again arguing that cutting taxes and reducing regulations are the key to get the economy going again. As if the past decade simply didn't happen, and that the formula of lowering taxes and reducing regulation is the answer to getting us out of the very mess it got us in to.

Fool me once...

Nice sounding quote, but try dealing in facts for once. Did the Bush era tax cuts bring economic prosperity? They've been in place for a decade now. What happened? How long do we have to wait?

Clinton raised taxes. 23 million jobs, and budget surpluses. Those are facts. You obviously don't deal in those however, so I'll try and dig up an old quote so you can keep up.

All American said...

Dear Anony, please see a doctor soon if your so sick because your gonna hear much more of that.

The Anointed One just said himself in 2009, that it is a mistake to raise taxes in this economy.

Bush increased the debt by four trillion in eight years! OMG! Well the Anointed One has tripled the Bush debt in just two years. Please get rid of that shovel Anony, you don't need more help digging your hole.

Fifty percent of the population does not pay any income tax. The richest people in America, the top 1% Pay nearly 55% in taxes. Whats wrong with this picture? How about a fair and equal tax for all? A flat tax and everyone pays their fair share. Example, a flat tax with no exemptions. Even the non-working welfare cases have to pay. And last but not least, all corporations pay taxes instead of nada!

All American said...

Five reasons Democrats just don't get it.

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half the people get the idea they no longer have to work because the other half is going to support them, and when the other half gets the idea that is does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they worked for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Anony, deal with this fact!

Anonymous said...

Answer the question AA. If the answer for building economic prosperity is cutting taxes, what went wrong? Bush era tax cuts have been in place for 10 years. Not only did they not result in economic growth, by the time W left office the economy was in a free for all, and we were emorrhaging jobs. What part of that don't you get? Why would you propose as the solution to our problem, the very conditions that were in place when the disaster occured. Haven't you been paying any attention at all?

And.. Despite the fact that Clinton raised taxes, the economy flourished. You finally had the balanced budget your type only cries about when a Republican isn't the president.

No matter how many Churchill quotes you have to throw out there- you simply can't get away from the facts. Though- you'll no doubt continue to do so, much to the delight of the richest 2% of this country.

Dear Anony-Mouse, the answer is really simple. Cutting taxes is only HALF the problem. The government must also quit spending money it doesn't have. There is your answer.

49 states have a balanced budget. I don't care if the President is a Democrat or a Republican, Get our government in order. Bush is not the President anymore and has not been for a couple years now. SO QUIT BLAMING HIM! The Anointed ONE is in charge baby and you gotta deal with that.

As for this debacle were in now with the budget. There is nobody to blame for this mess except the Democrats. They were in charge and refused to pass a budget last year. Where was the Anointed One and his Boob VP then? Oh that's right, we had another Genius as speaker during that period of time. " We must first pass the bill before we can find out what's in it." You must be so proud. Anony-Mouse your hole is far too deep to see the light. Quit diggin.

Cool, someone else who can't answer the questions I've posed to AA.

Faux News would never report on the figures I've noted above, so how could either of you possibly know how to respond?

By the way, because I like to deal with facts, I'd like to correct a statement made by AA earlier. He said "Bush increased the debt by four trillion in eight years! OMG! Well the Anointed One has tripled the Bush debt in just two years." On the day Obama took office the debt stood at $10,626,877,048,913. Bush was responsible for 4 of that roughtly 10.6 trillion. Today the debt stands at 14.3 trillion. That means Obama is responsible for less debt than Bush at this point (yes I know its 8 years compared to 2, but your statement was still grossly innacurate). Obama's debt actually ammounting to less than Bush's is hardly "triple the bush debt" as AA claims. I'm sure you heard that figure at a tea party event at some point, but its a lie. Do some research.

I agree with you that our debt is a huge problem by the way, I just think that handing out huge subsidies to things like... I don't know... oil companies, is not a great way to reduce the debt.

Thank goodness for Exxon/Mobil that they have guys like you in their corner.

Sad, either way.

Annoy-Mouse does not like quotes by Churchill, so I found one from the Anointed One!

Hypocritical Quote Of The Decade

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Zoinks!

And the cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the Federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and States of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on. It's Bush's Fault!
...
Every dollar we pay in interest is a dollar that is not going to investment in America’s priorities.—Barack H. Obama, 2006 Kinda brings tears to your eyes doesn't it?

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Mr. Varnes,

Fact: Bush inherited a thriving economy from Clinton.

Fact: Obama inherited an economy in full free-fall thanks to 8 years of Republican fiscal policy.

No matter how hard you try, you can't simply rewrite history. Lowering taxes and less regulation lead to the worst economy the country has seen in 70 years. You're in denial. I've noticed that happens to people when they turn out to be completely, fantastically wrong.

I'm sure you supported both wars, and obviously the conservative fiscal policy implemented during the Bush era that resulted in ballooning debt- but really, no thinking person argues that those policies didn't have disastrous results for our country. But instead of admitting the folly, people like you choose to dig in their heels, and insist all the more vehemently that they were right despite the obvious.

And then, having led the country down the path to fiscal destruction, you squawk about a failing stimulus. Of course, you have no idea what would have happened if we hadn't tried it. No one does. What we do know is that after that infusion of cash, the economy did start growing again, albeit at a pathetic pace, and we did start creating jobs again. Two million so far.

Unfortunately, it takes a long time to make up for the 750,000 per month job losses the country was seeing at the end of the Bush era.

But really, I think Obama should have gone with the Ronald Reagan response to a recession. He increased govt spending... and taxes, in 1982. The economy took off. Go figure.

Dan Varnes said...

"Dear" 'ANON':

The saddest part of your tripe-filled post is that you haven't a clue why America is in free fall. You believe whatever your Marxist /Socialist news sources tell you and obviously don't care to look any further.

Sometimes, it can be hard to tell if someone is truly clued in to the present situation or if they're completely clueless, like "Anon."

Here's how: If someone writes or tells you that "It's all the fault of the Republicans," then that person is dangerously ignorant... a complete fool.

Now if they happen to tell you "It's all the FAULT OF THE Democrats," then you're also dealing with an ignorant simpleton.

Neither of those people know WHY we're in this mess... and they certainly don't know how to extricate ourselves from it, either, but they've GOT THE SOLUTION! They heard Keith Olbermann or Mr. Rachael Madow tell them, so IT HAS TO BE TRUE!

OBSERVE THE MASSIVE IGNORANCE BELOW:

QUOTE: "Lowering taxes and less regulation lead to the worst economy the country has seen in 70 years."

Such a foolish statement; I won't waste my time on it. If you HONESTLY believe that, then I'm just wasting my time here.

QUOTE: "I'm sure you supported both wars..."

And I'm sure that you're WRONG, once again.

I supported NO WAR. Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9-11. America can't even defend it's own borders; we had/have absolutely no business meddling in the middle east.

QUOTE: ...path to fiscal destruction, you squawk about a failing stimulus. Of course, you have no idea what would have happened if we hadn't tried it. No one does."

FACT: You simply CANNOT grow an economy by running the printing presses. When will you pathetic liberals and R.I.N.O.s realize this?

QUOTE: "What we do know is that after that infusion of cash, the economy did start growing again, albeit at a pathetic pace, and we did start creating jobs again."

You and Obama "create jobs?" OMG! You're even more stupid than I thought! Even Barky's latest spokes-hole "Carney" admitted that they're not in the "job creation" business.

The biggest COWARD in the Senate, John Kerry says it's the Tea Party that has caused the down grade of America's credit rating.

He forgot to mention that the Democrats failed to get a budget passed the last two years. He forgot to mention that the Senate has not passed a budget in 800 plus days. But the COWARD blames others instead of who really is to blame. Democrats and the Anointed One!

This is the plan Obama wanted all along. His plan is to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands.

The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions).

Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors.

Obama wants to raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Barack Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

This is the real reason America's credit rating was lowered for the first time in our history.

John Kerry needs to return to his hole and fade into blackness.

Dan Varnes said...

AA: "Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Barack Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition."

You really should do some research. Ronald Reagan singed 11 different tax hikes into law during his presidency. Yes he initially cut taxes in 1981, but he was forced to raise them in 1982 when faced with a ballooning deficit, and a sluggish recovery. Reagan lived in the real world, not the "tea party" fantasy land.

But seriously, you look foolish when you make blatant false statements like the one above. Quit taking your talking points in lock step straight from Beck, Limbaugh, Coulter etc. Do some thinking and investigating for yourself.

Sigh... Once again, you deliberately blind yourself to the facts. The fact that you can't admit to them shows how far out on the fringe you really are.

Um, Really? What part isn't clear to you. Bush lowered taxes. On top of that, we all now know how little things like, oh I don't know, mortgage backed secruities were regulated during the Bush years. So you had all you needed between '01-'09 right? The economy should have flourished. Except it didn't. But hey, lets try that formula again!

LOL @ Obama as he travels around to the whitest areas of the USA. His "bold, new, economic plan" is so secret, that even HE doesn't know about it.

LOL @ Obama the bufoon ensconced in his Canadian made bus. Will somebody please slap a bumper sticker on the back that says "WE SHALL OVERSPEND!"

LOL @ Buffoon Obama as he prepares to vacation in the richest, most flaming-liberal piece of real estate in the USA. "Martha's Vineyard. He's going to tell the billionaires at MV that they need to pay more in taxes and "do their part." Don't you just love his arrogance, mixed with his massive amount of ignorance!

LOL @ his "Listening Tour." He's pandering SO HARD to get those liberal white voters back in his grasp. His black, base voters are SO jealous! Maxine Waters is LIVID!

Laughing at him, I ponder the thought... is there a catbox ANYWHERE that's big enough to hold his crap?

I have never heard this said as plain or as well. Class war at its best.

The folks who are getting the free stuff,
don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff,
Because the folks who are paying for the
free stuff,
Can no longer afford to pay for both the
free stuff and their own stuff,

And,
The folks who are paying for the free
stuff,
Want the free stuff to stop.
and the the folks who are getting the free
stuff,
Want even more free stuff on top of the
free stuff they are already getting!

Now... The people who are forcing the
people who Pay for the free stuff,
Have told the people who are RECEIVING the
free stuff,
That the people who are PAYING for the
free stuff,
Are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.
….
So...the people who are GETTING the free
stuff,
Have been convinced they need to hate the
people who are paying for the free stuff,
By the people who are forcing some people
to pay for their free stuff,
And giving them the free stuff in the first
place.

We have let the free stuff giving - go on for
so long that there are
Now more people are getting free stuff than
paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this. All great democracies
have committed financial suicide
somewhere between 200 and 250 years after
being founded. The reason?
The voters figured out they could vote
themselves money from the treasury by electing
people who promised to give them money
from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a
Republic in 1776, 231 years ago. The number of people now
getting free stuff outnumbers the people
paying for the free stuff.

…..

We have one chance to change that
in 2012. Failure to change that spells the
end of the United States as we know it.

….

ELECTION 2012 IS COMING

“A Nation of Sheep Breeds a Government
of Wolves!”

….

The wolves are here. What will you do?

You're silly AA.

"There's class warfare, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning."
-Warren Buffett

One more:

"The 400 of us pay a lower part of our income in taxes than our receptionists do, or our cleaning ladies, for that matter. If you're in the luckiest 1 percent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 percent."
- Warren Buffett

Ehh. What does he know though.

Warren Buffet is firmly "in bed " with Obama and his socialist/Marxist ideology. He wasn't always like this, just in the past few years. Kinda' like Alan Greenspan, who used to tell the truth when he was younger. Now, he's just another mouthpiece for the global banksters.

Buffet "sold out," as the hippies like to say. He's just another big government cheerleader who will gladly parrot the party line in order to keep his status as a member of the "ruling elite."

Read a newspaper once in awhile, loony libs. It'll do you a world of good! LEARN before speaking on a subject.

Buffet's blather is bogus... anyone with half a brain can see it.
