Motorists need to watch for slow moving painting crews
The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a project Monday, Sep. 15 to paint pavement markings at fifteen locations throughout Gila County. Sections of the areas listed below will receive new pavement markings;
-
Fossil Creek Road (Strawberry)-Sept. 15
-
Houston Mesa Road ( North of Payson)-Sept. 16
-
Gisela Road (South of Payson)-Sept. 19
-
Control Road (East of Payson)-Sept. 22
-
Colcord Road (East of Payson)-Sept. 23
-
Forest Service Road 512 (Young)-Sept. 24
-
Ice House Canyon and Kellner Canyon Road (Globe)-Sept. 25
-
Six Shooter Canyon Road (Globe)-Sept. 29
-
Main Street (Central Heights/Globe-Miami)-Sept. 30
-
Russell Road (Central Heights/Globe-Miami)-Oct. 1
-
Ragus Road and Railroad Avenue(Globe)-Oct. 2
-
San Carlos Drive (North of Globe)-Oct. 3
ADOT asks motorists not to park on the roadway in the above listed areas at those times so crews may complete their painting quickly. The painting equipment used in this operation moves slowly so drivers will need to use extra caution when crews are in the areas. There may be short delays while the new striping is applied.
Weather can be a major factor in applying new striping, so this schedule may change for those disturbances.
