Phoenix officially hits 100 degrees

The Republic | 5 p.m. MST May 1, 2015

It happens every year- usually about this time- but it's still jarring for some to see the thermometer climb to the century mark for the first time of the year.

Friday marked the first time that the Valley hit 100 degrees in 2015.

History tells us we'll be familiar with those temperature readings for the next three months or so.

Get used to it.

(And get used to a real newspaper.  You know, a paper that doesn't act as a mouthpiece for local government and the chamber of commerce.  A paper that asks the tough questions.  A paper that has real news, including USA Today free with every issue.  Seven days a week.  In your driveway.  To subscribe to the Republic, call 1-800-332-6733.  And don't forget to  cancel your subscription to the local paper.  Why would you pay that kind of money for two days a week?)
