Don't give our water to private golf course

Excuse me for raising the issue again, but the decision of Payson Mayor Kenny Evans and his lockstep council to guarantee a 50-year supply of water to the gated Chaparral Pines golf course is absolutely immoral - especially when they claim the water is not potable because they are bypassing the treatment facility on Houston Mesa Road.

Maybe the mayor is onto something when he jokingly refers to himself as "just a dumb farmer."

And when will the Payson Roundup live up to its civic responsibility and inform the people instead of being Evans' lackey?  C'mon, Pete: show some backbone.
