Despite Arizona's reputation as a right wing state, most residents favor legalizing both marijuana and same-sex marriage, according to the Behavior Research Center's Rocky Mountain Poll.
Fifty-six percent of those surveyed favor legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana, with 37 percent opposed.
Fifty-five percent of Arizonans favor allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry, while 35 percent are opposed.
The poll, conducted in April, is based on 700 telephone interviews statewide. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percent.
