Jazz Guitar Vocalist
Pete Pancrazi Quartet
2 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013
Community Presbyterian Church
800 West Main Street, Payson
Pete Pancrazi was named by Downbeat Magazine as the "one to watch,"and audiences around Arizona recently voted him "Jazz Guitar Player of the Year." A graduate of the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, he was awarded the Berklee Performer/Songwriter Award four times, and won the Berklee Songwriter competition two times.
While he is gifted jazz guitarist, Pete appeals to most with his vocal renditions of timeless swing and pop standards. For sure, fans of the guitar, and of instrumental jazz will enjoy Pete's playing. Add Pete's special vocal styling's to the mix of highly popular tunes that he has prepared, and you are in store for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of live music.
Pete, with pianist Claudia Bloom, bassist John Sims, and local drummer Gerry Reynolds, will form the jazz quartet. Payson is very fortunate to have professionals like Pete, Claudia and Vic coming coming from the valley on this Sunday afternoon.
The monthly jazz series at the Community Presbyterian Church is supported solely by donations received at the door, and by the Payson friends of jazz who volunteer.

Refreshments will be served.
During this cold January, I'm thinking about the hungry in our community who come to the church food bank. Demand for assistance has steadily increased, and the church now provides packaged family meals three times a week, which depletes supplies. Please bring a few canned goods on Sunday and leave them in the food cart at the church. I understand that bottled peanut butter is always needed. I'm dedicating the net proceeds of this performance to the food bank. Please make a special effort to attend if possible - Gerry Reynolds
