Demotion of Garvin not in town's best interest

In regards to Jim Keyworth's "Perspective" post on Saturday, Dec. 11, I would like to fully support his position in that matter!

This is not said lightly, because as a Conservative on most issues, understandably, Jim and I respectfully choose to differ on many things, but he is right on, in this situation! Donnie Garvin is a fine Officer and a credit to the force and generally a great person, and Chief Engler's recommendation and the Council's subsequent vote, reflect poor judgment, not in the best interest of the Town, or its Police force!

A person's private life, is most certainly not under the jurisdiction of the Town's Council, except to the extent that it can be proven to affect his performance on the job, in my opinion.

What will they be looking at next?? Perhaps their diet?
