Neil Young Is Not OK With Donald Trump Using His Music; Endorses Bernie Sanders
oday, Donald Trump announced that's he's running for President of the United States of America. Before he gave his speech, Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World" played. You know, the same Neil Young who wrote a song about George W. Bush called "Let's Impeach the President" and is about to release an album about Monsanto.
Obviously, Young is not OK with Trump using his music.
"Donald Trump was not authorized to use 'Rockin' in the Free World' in his presidential candidacy announcement," reads a statement from Young's representative. "Neil Young, a Canadian citizen, is a supporter of Bernie Sanders for President of the United States of America."
Trump's representatives told TMZ that they "paid for and obtained the legal right" to use the song.
The Monsanto Years is out on June 29 via Reprise. Here's his environmental anthem from Storytone, "Who's Gonna Stand Up":

Yep. Who IS gonna
stand up and change the whirley world? Certainly not us, you or me, as
we are too busy/interested in driving in circles buying disposable
stuff, and flying off on vacation, or driving to protest big oil, or
flying to protest, oh hell, let somebody else do it. Just leave me in
peace and let me drive on buy?
We are destroying our world and devouring the commons of Nature, with every waking dollar we spend and everything we toss into our trash cans week after year.....

Is there a more
hateful person on this planet than Donald Trump? Perhaps ridding
ourselves of this megalomaniacal, narcissistic, piece of offal would be
the first step in cleaning up this world.

If Donald Trump had listened to the lyrics of the song, would he have wanted to use it in his campaign? Ah, irony...

Quoting DaveM:
Just proves Rove's point. Trump is a complete moron. 'Course Rove isn't the brightest bulb in the box either.

Donald Trump and company are TAKERS. They take and gobble up what they can and fire anyone who questions anything.
While it is usually not a good practice to oversimplify based upon one example, I think this incident is a small microcosm of this man's mindset.
The mindset is:
1) Use anything and everything you can that is to your advantage so long as it helps you today.
2) Worry about potential consequences later.
3) If you get backed into a corner, then just LIE.
To make an extra dime, this man would frack his own backyard, destroying his own groundwater down the road, if he had the chance.
Does this sound like a good mindset to be President? Draw your own conclusions.
No one likes an egomaniac, which is why they had to pay people to show up to his announcement of candidacy.

Donald Trump is an
egomaniac - did anyone notice he has let his hair go grey, instead of
fire red. The man is a fool, and will go down big time in any election.
