We can't turn our backs on nation's veterans

Veteran’s Day is a time to honor those who have protected our nation for generations. Many have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives including my own father, Wyman Carroll Foster, in the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes on 21 Jan. 1945.

Wounded veterans deserve our greatest care. But now, faced with a large federal deficit, the Congressional Super Committee is poised to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid for these heroes. We can’t turn our back on our nation’s veterans – we must demand no cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. We can’t accept cuts for veterans or any Americans who have earned their benefits.
