Community College Creative Writing and Literature Classes beginning Jan. 7
Introduction
to Creative Writing covers techniques in writing memoir, autobiography, poetry and
fiction; emphasizes elements of poetry such as imagery, meter, rhythm, and
form, and elements of fiction and nonfiction such as dialogue, description, conflict,
characterization, and point of view. ENG
131, Introduction to Creative
Writing, meets Mondays & Wednesdays from 3-4:20 p.m.
Short
Story Writing is a personal enrichment class encompassing discussion and
critique of student work and readings of representative works. ENG 234, Short Story Writing, meets on Tuesdays
from 6-8:50 p.m.
English
Literature II covers selected literature from the Romantic Period through the
present. Learn to analyze literature for
greater personal enrichment or to fulfill the intensive writing requirement. ENG 222, English Literature II,
meets Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:30-11:50 a.m. (Prerequisite: ENG 101 with a grade
of “C” or higher)
Spring
semester dates are January 7 – May 8, 2015.
Registration is ongoing now. For
students 55 and older, tuition is waived.
