No returning to broken healthcare system

Failures in Recent Memory

by Global Trekker
On Friday, November 15, 2013, the Wall Street Journal editorial page published a column with more of the Obama bashing that we are all familiar with and tired of. But the concluding paragraph most caught my attention, as follows:
  • "They are trying to impose on Americans insurance they don't want, at prices they don't want to pay, while limiting their choices of doctors and hospitals. This is the reality of modern liberal government."
When reading conclusionary articles like this I am immediately reminded of the failure of our previous health care system. It was unaffordable, ineffective, produced mortality rates that ranked 43rd in the world, was incomprehensible, resulted in immorally high profits for a few, and didn't cover nearly 30 million Americans. Have editorial writers like this just completely forgotten how bad the system was before? It is not as though it were a huge success - it wasn't. Are they suggesting we should return to an acknowledged broken system of taking care of Americans at a cost that is deeply related to other entitlement programs that everyone universally agrees are in need of reform?
Are memories really that short? Or is the need for political criticism of the opposing party really that strong? Or both?

I personally liked the old healthcare system......it worked for me and was a hell of a lot cheaper than this new ACA....affordable my ass!!!!!!.......also I don't need all the extras now required to be included in the plans.......it's called FREEDOM to choose.....Now required to buy by the government or pay penalties.....Liberals cradle to grave mentality..........
