Arizona native and Mesa del Caballo resident “Buckshot Dot” (also known as Dee Strickland Johnson), has published a book for the state’s Centennial entitled Along Arizona Trails - a collection of poems and songs of Arizona by Arizonans.
One of the book’s six sections is entitled “Arizona Classics.” It contains pieces as well known as Gail Gardner’s “The Sierry Petes” (“Tyin’ Knots in the Devil’s Tail”) and Charles Badger Clark’s “The Glory Trail” (”High Chin Bob).”
In all, Arizona Trails contains sixty entertaining pieces of western literature, including works by such respected western contemporary writers as Jim Cook, Dean Cook, Rolf Flake and others, selections by the author include such favorites as “Tomboy,” “Old Hank Morgan’s Place,” “Buckaroo Waltz,” “Old Girl Power,” “Duct Tape and Bailin’ Wire,” etc.
